This school is a joke. Get your bullying under control. Students are being assaulted and sent to the hospital after school due to direct bullying happening at you school and on your school bused and your "educators" and adults responsible for the care of our children are looking the other way and refusing to accept responsibility. I will not let this be slipped under the rug.

EXCELLENT! My child is having an amazing career at East. The compassion of the student body, staff, teachers, and leadership makes this school the best in Madison area. It is the most diverse, and its diversity is celebrated across the school. If moving to the area, check out East. Don't let the numbers dissuade you. Their numbers are improving steadily every year. Eastside Eastside!

Coming from a junior at Memorial, This school is heavily restricted and pure learning-focused. This school treats us like we are five year olds. Only clean music, no free time, and no games unless it says “EDUCATION” in big bold letters and is recommended by at least 500 moms on Facebook. This place also loves to suck every penny out of you, by putting unnecessary charges on your school bill and lunch bill, and making lunches equivalent to the price of a bag of chips and soda at Disneyland, with the quality of the garbage juice slurry at the bottom of your trash can. , Would not recommend this school if you want your child to have a fun experience here.

A kid brought a gun to school and a week later I see them in the hallways and all the staff acts like nothing happeneds. You can never feel safe even if you mind your business

If you are neurodiverse, run. Principal Frank is discriminatory against neurodiverse populations. Her staff is stressed and you can feel this the moment you walk into the school. Frank is cold and will not say hello or greet students that are disabled. She does not fairly allocate SEAs, and she will not attend or collaborate on IEPs. The teachers are inflexible to adjust curriculum. The children barely get outside and there is little play. This is our neighborhood school and it is in a very sad state. The building is also falling apart also so temperature and electricity problems have occurred regularly. I cannot recommend it. Many go private in our neighborhood due to this which is our route also now.

My sister goes to West, and she tells me how much she loves it there. They have hour-long lunches (unlike Cherokee Heights MIddle School), and she tells me about how kind and likable all of the teachers are. Even the gym teacher is incredibly thoughtful and observes the students to see what activities they enjoy the most. She also had a recent project where she'd get to choose what she wanted to do as like a fun menu styled thing. At West, they actually value kids enjoying and participating in their education (unlike Cherokee Heights Middle School). Overall, this school has been an incredible experience for my sister and I'm VERY excited to leave Cherokee and go there.

I have low stars of this school is because I fill the teacher does not really help me on helping my kids academically. My kids are happy which is good. But, I do not know what they have learned and what are their weakness. If I don't know that, how do I help them. I understand that test score is not everything, but it might be important to someone. I still believe test scores are important otherwise why is it still exist?? Teachers of my kids are very nice, but does not help me or understand the way to help my kids to improve on English and Math in particular. I strongly believe that English and Math are the fundamental. You need English to read and learn other things and math to help you have a better finance aspect in your life. I have been contacting school teachers on helping my kids on national standard tests and very few help are provided. I can easily google search those helps myself. The school is good, but I would highly appreciated that they can focus more academically (English and Math).
