"Neighborhood is quiet with quick access to local stores and Highway’s. Numerous public schools locally as well as high school."
  • Trulia User
"mini urban/rural feel with the city nearby. There is bus transportation for those without a car. Small town feel with rural feel! "
  • Trulia User
"In old point ave there’s a property that offleash there dogs that’s not trained. And the owners rev there motorcycle and go fast all the time. I feel unsafe. "
  • Trulia User
"It's quiet despite being in the middle of everything. Everyone knows everyone but no one is nosy. They're not especially friendly either. It's not a very outgoing community. Though the people are nice. When my dog escapes the yard he is promptly returned. It is also a very diverse neighborhood."
  • Trulia User
"Depending on the time of day will determine how much traffic you hit. Stay on the same street as a school and the traffic gets backed up trying to get to the drive way in the afternoons sometimes but other than that not bad."
  • Paul H.
"I would raise my children here. I find the homes vary in type, and really do enjoy their history. The older buildings on the main streets are exciting to view upon family walks."
  • Sjones20
"Area is pretty safe for older kids to play. Lots of kids on bikes, fishing at the pier, playing ball at Phoebus Little League and kid friendly restaurants. The local cider and brewery nearby are great for kids and the YCMA and Ft. Monroe Community Center are nearby for kids activities and camps. St. Mary’s Catholic School is here and a great school for kids Pre-K thru 8th grade. "
  • Jnmacon212
"its not the best naiborhoood but its very quite aside from the band playing at the school the next st over but honestly i dont really like the area lots of violence and drama i would rather like to live somewhere whgere i feel more safe "
  • Tonia T. A.

"I have lived here for 23 years. Raised a daughter in this house. Made it thru all storms with little damage. The area is not perfect, but not many are this day. Everyone looks after each other. I have regular contracts for insect control, plumbing, lawn work and electrical. Carpet on 3 rooms. We have a pantry off the kitchen and wash room in addition to the 6 rooms stated."
  • Holly l.
