I’ve had two children attend Culverdale Elementary School, and I truly cannot say enough positive things about the teachers, staff, and administration. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with many staff members through committees, councils, events, and boards, and it’s clear that Culverdale genuinely focuses on the whole child. The school works hand in hand with families and the community to create a supportive environment where students can thrive both academically and personally.In particular, Principal Burke gives his all to this school. His positive impact on the students, staff, and community is unmistakable. He leads with dedication, compassion, and integrity, always keeping students at the center of every decision while thoughtfully balancing both the big picture and the day-to-day details. He is kind, fair, and deeply invested in the success of the school community. Working with him over the years has taught me a great deal about collaborative and positive leadership. Both Culverdale and IUSD are fortunate to have such a dedicated principal.

Their leadership creates a positive, organized, and welcoming environment for both students and families.Safety: Safety is clearly a top priority here. From secure entry procedures to attentive staff during drop-off and pick-up, we always feel confident that our child is in good hands throughout the school day.Education: The academic program is well-balanced, engaging, and age-appropriate. Our child is not only learning core subjects but also developing critical thinking, creativity, and a genuine love for learning.
