4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageVery bad school. Child got bullied a lot. Lots of physical violence. Some drug related situations on school property. Lots of violence kids. No protection from bullying. The principal ignores the bullying problem to avoid paperwork. The officer bullies parents and kids. Parents and their complaints are not respected. Ongoing everyday bullying and physical violence and threats from violent students mentally affects kind children in this school. Bullies are never punished or disciplined. Violence never disciplined. The victims take the blame and get bullied by the principal and police officer on campus. Academically Gifted children are not supported in their learning development. Some teachers are not interested to get involved into protecting the kids from bullying and harassment and let it all happen. Bullying continues on school busses. Also physical violence continues on school busses and not always gets reported to school. Lots of dissapointment with this school and damage to my child physically and mentally for the past 2 years. Parents and their opinions are not respected. Safety of children is not important here.Parent Review3w ago5 Reviews - Fogarty Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMilitary family, with normal expectations. This school is completely worthless for any advanced students. Not only does the student have to attend classes with kids 2-3 years older but they also have little to nothing for them by the time they reach their Junior year- its college classes at that point. If you want rude, uncaring staff who play favs with connected families children, fake Christians, lack of educational options, and kids who talk like sailors - well this school just might be your golden ticket !Parent Review2mo ago5 Reviews - Guthrie Junior High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe recently moved to the State and the City. As a former teacher for 12 years, I know understanding what teaching involves and how challenging it is. I always give the teachers and administrators the benefit of the doubt. My daughter, who has ADD/ADHD started attending school this year and her first semester she did very poorly. We blamed he mostly because since we were knew, I didn't monitor. The disappointing thing is that only one teacher contacted us about her grades. One I contacted, basically told me she just graded their assignments/tests and gave input there. There is hardly no communication between school and home. Zero, except when they miss school (this means money lost for the district). If the teachers are not motivated, administration doesn't care why should students care? Having worked in almost all Title 1 Schools this was not the case with me or with the schools I worked. Very disappointed about the state of our educational system. My daughter has done well the second semester. Unfortunately, this is the only Jr. High School here so but I will consider a private school next year.Parent Review3y ago5 Reviews - Check out schools near 10 S Post Rd.

"We have several parks in town to walk your dog and are very pet friendly. But it’s very hard to rent a house/apartment, in Guthrie, because when owners fix their houses up to rent, there’s a no pet policy because a majority of people don’t want a dog or cat after remodeling their home.A lot more renters if they were alout to lock their up. "Just a few blocks away is downtown Guthrie. The town itself is like a GREAT BIG ANTIQUE COMMUNITY!! Amazing and beautiful place to live. The people are super friendly! And it’s small. I like that."

"I love that for the most part people are trustworthy and friendly they look to help one another and are genuinely concerned when they see someone struggling. I truly love the small town vibe and the caring for one another. "

"Nice historic town with a homey atmosphere. My kids went through the school system and it is a good school system, except for the transportation director. my daughter now teaches in the high school. Lived outside of town in a rural housing edition that is safe and friendly. The HOA is overbearing and tedious. "

"This area is very much a laid back retreat for those seeking a calm and quiet area to relax. However, it's easy drive to downtown Guthrie helps maintain local entertainment ability for those quick nights out. And Guthrie's overall proximity to Edmond and OKC Metro makes for fun and inspiring evenings to the entertainment districts with more cultural, art and historic sites just a short drive away. And for those looking for more fun, the Frontier City amusement park is only 20 minutes away, straight down I-35. Come and take a look."
