Distinguished as the oldest house in Riverside and one of the few remaining 18th century buildings on Putnam Avenue, the Samuel Ferris House (circa 1760) sits proudly with its storied history on a flat, quarter acre at the beginning of Cary Road. There are winter water views of the Mianus River. Ample square footage is available in the R-7 zone for an addition with approvals. There is a preserved
edge paneled fireplace wall in the dining room, many beamed ceilings, original wide floorboards on the second floor, and other charming Colonial features. Part of a special neighborhood of homes developed for WWII veterans on land that was once part of the Samuel Ferris farm.
