The first year my son was in middle school was not so great. The teachers did not communicate with me at all and my son was failing. Once I got his progress report and saw that he was failing I was livid but, I went to the school had a meeting with his teachers and was able to help him get back on track. For the remainder of that year the teachers communicated well with me and I was pleased. The following year I had signed up and downloaded an app for Power School and every Sunday night I get an email with his current grades. I communicate with his teachers very well and he has 3 A's and a B. Every time I see his grade is starting to slip a little lower than it was I get on my son and tell him he needs to talk with his teacher and fix it and he does. The teaches do care very much for our kids and if you are proactive about communicating with them and letting them know you are an involved parent they do well communicating with you when there are problems and even when your child has a really good day!
