6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHorrible Teachers! This school has a serious issue with ego-driven teachers who are flat-out rude and dismissive. Melanie Goodman-Smith is one of them. She shows little respect toward students, talks down to them, and creates an environment where learning feels discouraging rather than supportive. Her ego gets in the way of actual teaching, and instead of building students up, she tears them down.Parent Review8mo ago23 Reviews - Hamlin Middle School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePositive reviews here are clearly just designed to distill what really is happening at Hamlin. They negate the reality that some children, particularly those who need support the most, can fall through the cracks here. Families should approach with caution and ask very clear questions about how students are supported in practice, not just in policy. Our experience with Hamlin School raises serious concerns about how the school supports their students.Students are plainly not recieving consistent or meaningful support. What is required in structured strategies, understanding, and continuity is instead met by minimal adjustments and a largely reactive approach. Behaviors linked to students' needs were too often treated as problems to manage rather than signals to understand. This follows a sliperry slope for many students at Hamlin: limited intervention, poor follow-through, and a gradual shift from support to exclusion. The outcome was not resolution but removal handled in a way that felt administrative rather than child-centred; going against what children need in these crucial age groups. The issue is not about one child, but about consistency. When support breaks down so clearly in one case, it calls into question how robust that support is in general. In our experience, it did not hold up.Other Review1mo ago10 Reviews - Check out schools near Ott Williams Rd.

"The only thing that is unique about this neighborhood is the people that are friendly and the kids get along great. The only downside of living here in Wintergarden is it’s not enough places to go out to eat and it is not enough places for kids to hang out or teenagers to hang out and the closest place for teenagers to hang out is at the Wintergarden Grove area where you have to take off the exit 9, which I think that’s a bit too far for them to hang out when they can remain closer, it would be better if they had a place to hang out within the neighborhood. Also, Price is over here for a living is very high so if you’re not making a decent amount of money, it is expensive even the apartments that are surrounding it. It’s expensive.."

"Great little town if you live in the north side near old Winter Garden. Quaint small town feel with plenty to do. Surrounding area is overdeveloped like everywhere in central Florida. Schools could be better. Real estate is inflated, but the town is desirable. Everything you need is close; no need to go to Orlando for much. "

A soccer field, tennis courts, pickleball courts and basketball courts that allow the neighborhood to enjoy each other’s company. During COVID, we had live music performances in the park."
