7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child had gone to this school from kindergarten up till we pulled them. There was some good teachers, but anytime my child came home about getting punched, or bullied and it was addressed with the school nothing was ever done about it. The bulling continued, to the extent where my child didn’t wanna go to school anymore. Our first year they had gone to the restroom where an upper classmate punched them in the stomach. It was reported and nothing which was just the start of it. There was a teacher who picked on and singled out my child as time there continued. Come to find out I wasn’t the only parent who had a child come home upset because of this teacher over the years. This is just to name a couple. It’s sad because the school is where children spend most of their time in as they grow. They are supposed to feel safe, but this didn’t provide that safety for my kiddo.Parent Review9mo ago3 Reviews - Freeman High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI genuinely hate going to this school! Any kid who's been elsewhere can agree that our support is actually lower than other places. It is isolating to be here. Freeman loves to boast about its teachers and academics and parents eat it right up, but I would not believe any parent's assumptions looking from the outside in more than I would believe an involved, older student. There are few APs, no IBs, and 3 clubs (only one of which may be college-preparatory). My college applications are going to look dry academically. We don't even do an honor roll. Our counseling is awful. Unreliable and slow, even though I've been to school with 1,000 students and one counselor, and they can somehow get things done in a timely manner. Want a meeting with the counselor? You'd better corner her and bother her until she has to deal with you. Getting her in her office isn't an option, as she's never in there, or if she is, she's closed both doors so you can't knock and enter. Students begged for a mental health counselor for years (small town farming, conservative areas...those kids don't get any help at home) and we only got one because it was *too late* and some kid already lost it and shot up the place. Then, they were going to TAKE THE COUNSELOR AWAY. Our voices finally did something, I guess, because she's still here (thank goodness). Either way, this mental health counselor was here for months before an official announcement was made.Freeman is clique-y. Students divide themselves by age, gender, skin color, sense of humor, and everything else in between. This is bound to happen at any school, but the "Freeman family" motto is spouted even though the average student is an elitist. They take away resources regularly. We have a lovely health room with ovens, bakeware, etc., perfect for home ec, which we no longer have. The best use the ovens get is "pizza Friday" for the teachers. We considered taking away drama class as the band expanded, and even though we didn't, we took away the choir/drama room and make them both use our stage at all times (which is dingy, may I add). The choir teacher quit less than a week before school started because of this. Our fine arts are not cared about, which is a shame, since so many of our students are incredibly talented. Our art teacher is a WORLD-RENOWNED SCULPTOR and nobody cares. Sports get all the money.Don't go here.Student Review6y ago3 Reviews - Freeman Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFriendly, smaller school that demonstrates and encourages quality in every corner. I'm impressed with the respectfulness coming from the students on the property whenever I am there to pick up my child. My son loves going to school. Every parent I have talked to raves about their experience with this school. I am excited for all my children to spend their childhood going through school here.Parent Review8y ago3 Reviews - Check out schools near E Big Rock Rd.

"If you're talking about greenstone properties development, I'm been here 8 years. It's got crowded people that don't live here come Here Is the problem for me? And I don't really like the idea. Without gating community, it is caused a problem for me. I can't hardly walk my dog sometimes. There might be 4 people walking I'd like to see the area gated with a key. So the only access to this place would be the people that live here. It's gotten polluted, people are breaking the fence. They're breaking the The bench a The shooting area and also other areas. They have broken, then I can't even tell you. So open gated HOA is no no"

"There are children around but only by necessity as rent is very cheap here. It is absolutely not friendly, one of the most dangerous areas in Spokane. Prolific trash and dumping, as well as a very heavy homeless population. There are obvious signs of drug use, as well as public drug use sightings increasing. People drive extremely fast and recklessly depending on the road. Not a place for children."

"Great neighborhood with amenities like parks, groceries and speciality stores. Convenient to get downtown via Southeast Blvd. Easy to get to the I-90 freeway to get to the Valley, Airway Heights, and area near the freeway. Not as cozy a neighborhood as the west side of the South Hill. More commercial but you get the conveniences."
