3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy review is referring to my experience with some of the support staff. There are some very nice people working in the school, unfortunately, whomever has been responsible for doing the hiring over the past few years seem to have scraped the bottom of the barrel. There have been some of the nastiest attitudes in grown adults that are working with children that I have seen and so unprofessional in appearance and talking like they’ve no sense. These support staff employees are supposed to be assisting as needed but they don’t seem to want to show up and do the job they were hired to do. Not sure why the heads of the Special Ed dept. and administration are unable to monitor their own problem children employees. Again, I can only speak for grades K-5, but what an absolute disaster this school is. Classroom behavior seems to be an issue according to my child, however, it would appear that nothing is ever resolved as a result of the VP not having a backbone. Revolving door of in and out behavior issues. There are some wonderful teachers, unfortunately, there are a few teachers that seem to be lazy, disorganized, and just waiting for the end of their career. No, I absolutely do not recommend this school at this time.Parent Review8mo ago - Edgewood Middle School

"There IS public transportation, but I've never used it. The bus does come to the back corner of the neighborhood, but im from Baltimore... so public transportation out here is 300% different than what I'm used to. But I drive so I've never never dealt with Harford Co trans. personally..."

"I’ve lived in this area for the past 20+ years near Flying Point Park and it is a really nice part of Edgewood to raise children and it’s a pretty quiet and close knit community. I would definitely recommend anyone looking to move in the area to look into Harbor Oaks, Lord Willoughby’s Rest, Otter Creek Landing, or Forest Oaks!"

"Good schools and events for kids via scooby doo and other programs. Many local agencies available to assist if you reach out for the help. Many friendly services. Community Yard Sales. A lot of kids but not saturated. Much available to balance any new family. "

"Not the best schools in my opinion. Also certain areas can be really sketchy and I wouldn’t trust letting my kids run freely outside of our court."

"Renting in the nicer area of Edgewood is much more pricey for the little extra space you get. I wish there were more 4 bedroom 2 bathroom houses in the area but there aren’t many at all. There are some gang related activities going on in Edgewood all together not many playgrounds for little children or swimming pools."

"The neighborhoods are often trashy, so you have to be careful of what your pets get into. I’ve had trash thrown over my fence. "

"The majority of my neighbours are wonderful, of course there are a few who leave little to be desired. I'm not happy with the mobile home park I live in but that's because of the new owners. It's become way too expensive to live here so I'm afraid to say that I'm looking for a new place to live. "
