This all wooded hunting tract in Jackson County offers some quality deer hunting. Conveniently located between Carbondale and Murphysboro this diverse hunting tract has great potential. With a history of producing big bucks, the rolling terrain and diverse habitat sets the stage for a quality hunting experience. An established larger food plot has been well maintained with the sellers practicing no-till planting for the past several years to help build the soil health. The food plot is a nice feature and a deer magnet in an all wooded tract. Other food plots could be established with some clearing to further enhance the property. The property has had a select timber harvest in the past several years and TSI (Timber Stand Improvement) work done on the tract that is setting the stage for optimal forest health and great bedding cover for wildlife. The early successional growth is exploding which is creating more cover every year. Trail system throughout the property creates easy access throughout. A big valley in the center of the property would make a great pond site. Property is accessed through a gated entrance off of Pumphouse road that is part of this tract No easements to worry about. "Murphysboro is a great town, the people are friendly, there is always something to do other than the Apple Fest. Town is surrounded by lakes, hiking trails, and wineries. Murphysboro's bars and restaurants are great, along with coffee shops. We can always use more diversity in our restaurant choices. The town is growing in a positive way and things are happening"

"I lived here and the people are a group of senior citizens and they are particular who lives in the duplexes. Most complain about the landlord and each other. NOT friendly. Too far to walk downtown and no walking distance restaurants. Was happy to move out of that area."

"I lived in on Dewey St. for 3 years, and while it looks like a nice area, just a street over is a very seedy area that is plainly unsafe for women or children to be in. The park a few blocks away is dangerous year-round. There are consistently robberies in the surrounding neighborhood, and to add insult to injury, the sheer number of dog owners who allow their pets to defecate on the sidewalk and in others' yards is staggering. I even own a dog, and I am disgusted with the dog messes everywhere. There is a housing project down the street in which at least one murder a month occurs. I do not recommend this area for anyone who finds an affordable place elsewhere. The safe parts of this city are scattered and right next to areas that are dangerous even during the day. Otherwise, it has nice curb appeal (a lot of trees) and is really cheap. Barely any restaurants to speak of, except for 17th Street BBQ, which one can drive to from another town. "
