"Safe, fun, trendy, a melting pot of people. Plenty to do and eat. But I hate living down here now, IT IS ENTIRELY TOO LOUD!! And the “People Mover” is still out of service!"
    • Trulia User
"We have concerts and restaurants and events and car shows. Boating and festival and cycling all kind of things shopping and sight seeing "
    • Trulia User

"There are many festivals and events downtown that bring all sorts of people together. There are various activities to do for people with all types of interests, so you are always going to find a like minded person in whatever to look to do."
    • Barbara K.
"It’s an exciting place to live, many activities and restaurants. You always have something to do, Day or night. Not the best area for families though. "
    • Lee S.
"That the downtown area is family oriented and safe for young single mothers. Lot of eateries and lot of fun places for the kids"
    • B Moody
"Campus Martius is in walking distance where you can ice skate in the winter and play basketball in the summer. There are great restaurants like Townhouse Detroit with a beautiful atmosphere and great food. Hart plaza holds the Movement and Jazz festival in the summer. There’s something for everyone!"
    • Anesha B.
"I live near Campus Martius and Beacon Park. These parks have several seasonal events throughout the year. Of course, in the winter there aren’t as many due to the cold. However, the ice skating rink at Campus Martius is a daily activity available for locals during the winter months. "
    • Unspecified
"I drive, parking downtown is expensive and availability is poor. Traffic has become worse over the last two years. On nights when there are events on parking is bad"
    • Emily C. K.
"views of the river, proximity to Belle Isle, and biking lanes. Harbortown market keeps improving its offerings."
    • Tyin248
"I am downtown. So, there is no cummute. Everything that we need is within walking distance. I do see people from the nearby areas commuting into downtown on bicycles and scooters "
    • Diana C.
"I see happy dog owners all the time, we have a pet shop in the neighborhood...so I think they’s love it :)"
    • dbow925
"It’s very expensive considering the lack of resources within close proximity. Rental rates alare based on potential it seems than quality. "
    • benjamintbailey
"Proximity. Diversity. History. Ease of movement. Cleanliness. I love The Apparatus Room at The Foundation. I love Tummy Love massage therapy. "
