"Very few people pick up after their dogs do their business. There aren’t very many designated areas to let your dogs off leash , such as a dog park."
  • Tbt280
"Some of the dog owners are disrespectful and don’t clean up after their dogs. Be sure your animals are vaccinated."
  • Lyndag
"My neighborhood is located very near schools, shopping , the movie theater and downtown shops and restaurants. Also within walking distance of the transit center. It is also on a dead end street in a small multi racial area. About half of the homes are owner occupied with the other half being long term rentals. It is a very friendly neighborhood where we all help and look after one another. Just the other day a neighbor came by and helped trim our shrubs. And another brought us a beautiful bunch of evergreen boughs. My house smells great. 🙂 I also enjoy that our neighborhood is very mixed in ages. From a baby under 1 to small children, teenagers, young adults, parents and grandparents. The homes are also varied in age and style. Some built in the 40’s and the newest is not quite finished."

"alot of stray cats and dogs, people like to speed through the neighborhoods populates with or without children. there is alot of country there for no public transportation. "
  • Stosser7799

  • Michelle P.
"small retirement town .. Friendly people but growing fast. not enough to do for kids, youth or family's..."
  • Melissa R.
"They would like that they can walk and play at the park they may not like that peoples dogs bark constantly and you can hear it through the park "
  • A.bjornstedt123
"Lots of druggies and I wouldn’t recommend walking around at walking around at night. Kids fall under bad influence fast. Schools are very positive but the staff doesn’t not handle personal credits right. "
  • Triston W.
"I have lived in this neighborhood for 3 years and everyone is friendly. The neighborhood is quiet for the most part. "
  • Missionmeg
"people walk their dogs here everyday. it is a heavily wooded neighborhood, and dog poo is typically well off the road but present."
  • Jennifer S.
"Like areas that have sidewalks, walk by the water or at farmers market . Lots to see and do and very pet friendly!"
  • Tiffany M.
"People go pretty fast down this road so I would make sure you don’t let your dog out of the fence unless they’re leashed. Shelton is a good place for dogs but not really IN town, more so, a little outside of town."
  • Leah B.
"short, not to much traffic. Shelton is a small town and everything is well within reach. quiet neighborhoods. "
  • Kari D.
"I believe it is fairly small neighborhood so it is very close knit. great neighbors as well. I have lived here for 14 years now. I especially love the huff n puff trails that border our neighborhood. "
  • Katalyst66
"I've lived here for ten years and still don't feel welcomed. There are very distinct groups in this town and they aren't very welcoming to new people. I am definitely looking forward to moving out of this town. it's really too bad because this area needs a shot in the arm, desperately"
  • Cathryn Johnson
"I have lived here my whole life and it is what you make. Drugs are everywhere if you do them you will find them. The Christian community is amazing. I go to the church of Nazareth and there are too many good people to list."
  • Michiayla M.
"my neighborhood is close to schools, parks and major shopping centers as well as restaurants and gas station. anything I need really is within a 10 minute walk."
  • mpatti
"A small neighborhood where most of us know each other. There is only one way in and out so that detracts the criminal element. The kids are safe in their yards."
  • Kz
"I’ve lived in Shelton for 20 years and just like any other place it has its own issues but it’s home"
  • Katalyst66
"Forest Festival, Oyster Fest, various car shows in the summer, Christmas parade are a few that come to mind. "
  • Rjrehwaldt
"We have two parades per year, a drive in theatre and the potential to become a healthier community. If people would just embrace change we would make great improvements."
  • Carey L. s.
"My neighborhood is awesome I can walk to several things but I don’t want to because they’re not a lot of businesses here that I use to purchase things"
  • Heather R.
"I work from home. traffic is currently awful due to construction. not many jobs nearby and I know people who have a long commute."
  • Gloversam00
"I've lived here for 8 years and it has stayed the same throughout the time I've been here. The neighbors are very helpful and there is hardly any crime where I live. The accessibility to the stores is nice too "
