"Open spaces to run and very little traffic. However coyotes at night. No sidewalks. Plenty of parks and open areas. Walking on the golf course is easy and fun. "
  • Cjpicou
"Un-eventful and with NO road rage. 25 minutes to ft worth on Toll road. No traffic holdups. Occasionally cows get out of pastures and end up walking on the roads. Lots of deer."
  • Deirdre
"I moved here 2 years ago. The school district is small and fantastic - they work well with IEP/ARD rules and do right by their students. This area is covered by volunteer fire departments and a paid police department in city limits. There isn't much as far as shopping in town, just a couple of dollar stores and a couple of gas stations and liquor stores, two dine-in restaurants, a Subway restaurant and a taco stand, and a feed store -- but it is all centrally located and easy enough to walk to if you live right near the town's center. A busy rural state highway runs through the town's center, but our local police do a good job of keeping traffic speeds under control - the posted limit in town is 45mph. Not a lot of places to safely ride a bike with all the big truck and farm truck traffic. The Elementary School playground is open for kids to play on when school is not in session so it doubles as a park, which is kind of nice. The school's track also allows for people to go down and walk for fitness, year round. The nearest larger stores are 6-10 miles north in Cleburne - malls are farther, in Fort Worth. Would love to see more development as far as fast food in this area, it would do well as there is a lot of commuter traffic coming through from Hill County to the DFW area, and out of DFW area to go to Lake Whitney for recreation. There is a "bus service" that can come pick you up and take you into the neighboring towns, but it is by appointment only and kind of pricey. It's a nice quiet place to live without a lot of drama, noise, or hassles, so if quiet is what you want, this is as good as it gets... but if you need quick access to stores, medical offices, and other services, this town is a bit off the beaten path."
