What Locals Say about Sequoyah

  • Renee Cordsen
    Sequoyah, Oakland
"Beautiful community and well-maintained by HOA. Neighbors are friendly. I’ve lived here for 4 years and feel very safe and peaceful living here. Have to be careful with car break-ins, like anywhere else in Oakland - it’s best to keep your car clean with nothing inside to attract theft."

"Very dog friendly community. Neighbors are frequently seen walking their dogs. With the hills, it’s great exercise for dogs & owners alike. "

"Rude Neighbors! Super up tight and complain about everything! It's high school all over again! Don't move here unless you want to judged by all your neighbors. "

"Nice, but has a couple of flaws. Some dog owners don’t have common courtesy/sense when it comes to other barking dogs or they just walk straight at you, while their dogs bark at others dogs passing by or my dog. Occasional gun shots which is frightening. Along with Neighbors playing their salsa or any music with a bass beat REALLY HIGH… those are the flaws living here but It’s a pretty area! Nice neighbors! Very safe! and Love the wildlife. "

"It’s safe if you stick to the sidewalks. There is an occasional loose dog, which is frustrating. It’s nice and flat, until you get to the hill."

"The hill is very steep to walk up and down. Only place to let their pets poop is their neighbors yard "

"I haven’t seen any events. I try not to go out. It’s a bad neighborhood. I’ve got three kids and I feel it’s unsafe for them to play out front."
