What Locals Say about South Beach

Review Highlights

South Beach, New York: breezy, family-friendly beach life with quick links to Brooklyn and Manhattan. People love the safe vibe, boardwalk and fireworks, parks, dog-friendly streets, and easy buses/ferry. They gripe about bridge traffic, tighter parking, bumpy roads, speeding, and uneven takeout.

"Parking around here has become a little harder since so many people come to the area to park their own cars and take public transportation. it clears out after 5 p.m., but it's still getting harder. Schools are very nice and close by, and the board walk is an amazing experience every day. Not much take out food around here, but there are lots of deliveries. Chinese food in the area used to be good, but now it's really bad. There are new speed pumps that slow cars down and also speed cameras in school areas. There is always a school guard and someone who stops the traffic for kids. "
