What Locals Say about Manchester

  • Courtney L.
"My area is okay. I have lived here for years but don’t like the amount of tourists we get. The high school is very good "
  • Courtney L.
"My neighborhood is okay for families. Not so much for cheap college students. Makes it really hard for those who can’t afford much. "
  • David T.
"Old maples trees (100+ years), marble side walks, bordering Equinox hiking area and golf courses, Equinox Resort and Hotel at one end and Hildene, the Lincoln family home, at the other end of scenic Vermont Main Street at the center of the Manchester Village National Historic District area. Houses are well maintained large houses and mansions - some old, all in the style of the period - 1780-1900 - usually modernized with the exteriors maintained according to town regulations, National Register and Historical Society guidelines. Excellent private and public schools, high end and quality outlet shopping, shopping center in town area, higher end lodging and wide range of good through excellent restaurants. Very good skiing resorts close by, horse riding and excellent recreational facilities (pool, stadium, parks) in Manchester town. Has for some time been a Summer, Fall and Winter destination as well as an all year round home for a large local community."
