"This is a great small town to live in, we are close to San Antonio and Austin. We have a robust wine industry here that has 50+ wineries in our area and brings tourists from all over the State and beyond. "
  • Alyssa T. M.
"Very cliquey group of moms, all the local moms have strong ties to the community & can certainly make new moms feel uncomfortable. Great school district & extra curricular activities including sports, FFA, & many more. Daycare is expensive & only one in the area accepts children under 2 years old. Lots of children ride bikes to school. Insane school car rider line. Very involved & active community "
  • Shelly
"2-5 min depending on time of day. I don’t work here so if I am commuting it is to shopping and restaurants."

"Neighbors are always walking with their dogs. The Wellness Center is packed at 6:00 am when I leave got work. Fbg seems like a healthy conscious kind of town. It’s nice and easy to live here. "
  • John T. L.

  • Lee A.
"Too many lights. I definitely wish we weren’t a tourist town. Stupid people from all over the US who don’t know how to drive."
  • Lee A.

  • John T. L.
"To many to count, their is something new every weekend. My favorite would have to be game dinner. But main street has some of the best food and hospitality."
  • Betsy

  • Betsy
"Have lived here 6 yrs & know most of our immediate neighbors. Hope to learn more about new neighbors that have recently bought. B & B's owners are harder to get to know."
  • Bob S.
"I have lived in Fredericksburg since 1989 and have been a Realtor here since 1994 and have sold both city homes and land and homes in and around Gillespie County. Having moved here from San Antonio to get our children to a smaller school. I would not live anywhere else. The town has a great old historic Main Street that attracts 25,000 tourist a weekend and over 375 B&B's both small in town Sunday Houses or homes out on the many ranches. This with our wine industry has made our town the #1 destination in Texas. But, it is also a great retirement area or safe place to raise children. We have a very active housing MLS system with a lot of different homes from small historic homes to newer custom homes in or out of town. Email me when you need more information about our town."
