"It’s calm, beautiful, well kept up, people are so friendly, no traffic or crime or stress or fires, or shootings or loud music, even the teenagers are nice and polite people! I love the brand new hospital up the way in beautiful Gold Beach , I just hope they can expand more on our medical center/urgent care/ER. Doctors are thorough and not rush rush! I love not tax! And the gas attendants pump your gas. It’s the law! People say please and thank you and don’t order you around! "

"I could write a book on my community. First and foremost is the people. In crises our town bands together. I feel if stuff hits the fan, more times than not you will find people who have your back. We are also a pet friendly community. Stop anywhere at a drive thru for coffee, a bank, gas station, outdoor restaurant..rest assured your pet doesn’t leave without a dog treat. Our town is perfect on so many levels. :) I call it Oregon Paradise. "

"Horrible place to live. Vacationers ruin it and the crime is too high for my liking. My car has been broken in twice in 4 years. "

"You will love Brookings, it just big enough to provide you with the stores you need to get the products you need and has enough restaurants with truly good food. We don't eat out that much, so having a lot of restaurants is not important to us, but I know some people might like a few more places to shop and eat but there are more places within driving distance. What you can't get anywhere else are the peple and beauty of Brookings, everyone is so friendly and willing to help. In the four years we have lived here we have never heard anyone act out in a negative way to us or to anyone else. Brookings also offers the most beautiful place to live, no matter what you are doing you can't help but be in a good mood because everywhere you go, you see beauty. We also have many Parks and outdoor activities, there is some nightlife but it is more of an outdoors activity town than an party town. There is basically no traffic I love this, even during the what you might think is traffic hour there is no traffic, so if you're looking for a stress free drive you have found it. People respect our home town and try to keep it clean, littering is not something you see a lot of and we Brookings do not look kindling on it. You will also find a sense of community here, the kind you expect to find in a small town, not so that it interferes with your daily life but the kind where people genuinely care what happens to you. So if you are looking for a place to call home think about Brookings."

"This area is truly one of the most beautiful places on the planet. The weather here is almost always between 55 and 70 degrees. Beaches, forests, streams and waterfalls, rivers, hiking, boating, fishing, photography and the Redwoods! If you're looking for fast-paced night life, or malls and city life - Brookings is not for you. If you love the outdoors, friendly people and a safe place to live - Brookings is truly an awesome place to live."
