What Locals Say about Booneville

  • Jessica C.
"It is a safe place to live and let your kids be kids. Everyone watches out for everyone. Nice little town. "
  • Stephanie S.
"Great schools, great park, community college within walking distance, friendly folks, close communities. "
  • Kayla R.
"Same families have always lived in this neighborhood for generations after generations. Very few new homes being built "
  • Stephanie S.
"It’s a small town and it has a very small town feel. People are friendly, although sometimes that can also mean nosey. Booneville is very safe, I regularly take walks at all hours of the day and night without feeling worried. There’s not much to do in town for young people, but it is a certified retirement community and there is plenty to do for the older age groups. Downtown Booneville is slowly being renovated into a lively shopping district, and there are several locally owned restaurants to choose from. Booneville is in a dry county, so there is no alcohol sold in the city or county; you can however drive about 10-15 minutes in either direction to buy either liquor or beer, within the state-regulated times. Booneville City Schools are some of the finest in the state, but the county schools could be much better. Northeast Mississippi Community College is located right in the center of town, and it’s influence is slowly starting to turn the town into a younger, more lively place. "
  • Mariam A.
"I live on a dead end street. Kids can play safely and there's not too many neighbors. Everyone keeps to themselves."
