Tomahawk Valley is in Basehor, a town with its own schools and its own identity - tucked away, but still close to all the conveniences of the KC metro.

Basehor is one of the few places in the area where you can actually get around on foot. The city rebuilt 155th Street in 2024 with a multi-use path and a roundabout at Parallel, and it's extending trails along 158th Street right at the edge of the neighborhood. Tomahawk Park is right across the street, with lots to offer in its own right, and the larger Basehor City Park is just a few minutes north. Falcon Lakes golf course is also nearby.

    "wonderful place to raise children. diversity is low, but it is improving. my children are African - American and biracial and have not had any negative experiences in school so far in relation to this. my oldest daughter is well-adjusted and has tons of friends. my youngest is too young for school. I'm very pleased with our neighborhood and school district so far. we're going on 4 years here. highly recommend this area. "
