"The commute to downtown is easy, and getting to a grocery store is no problem even if you don’t have a car"

"A couple of parks nearby that are well maintained, not too much traffic, lots of people with dogs, friendly neighborhood"

"its close to everything...and bus transportation as well as work...i can either bus, walk or E scooter it as well. VERY CONVENIENT"

"Like the rest of Austin, there are plenty of dog owners in this neighborhood. North Campus is spacious and has some greenery, but because it is overridden with apartments, there are fewer grassy places for dogs to roll around."
- Lisa M.

"Many people own and walk dogs in this area, but there is plenty of traffic."
- Barbara S.

"The work commute is similar to that of the surrounding neighborhoods. North Campus is very close to I-35, which has pretty bad traffic, and you kind of have to cut across town a bit to get on MoPac for faster access to North/South Austin. However, there are convenient bus stops throughout North Campus that allow you to commute via public transportation quite easily."

"My commute is lengthy (20 miles each way) on a very busy highway, so it is fast and furious most of the time."
- Lisa M.

"It is a very eclectic neighborhood with a diverse population. There are university students, professionals, and families inhabiting older and newer homes, as well as a wide variety of businesses: trendy restaurants, law offices, medical facilities, and more. I love that people walk dogs, ride bicycles and skateboards by our house, and stop to chat outside. It's a friendly environment."

"This neighborhood, also known as North Campus, is definitely the tamer version of West Campus, with generally older UT undergraduate students (mostly engineers), graduate students, professors, and some families. This interesting mix of students results in a rather quiet community. The living situation ranges from extravagant buildings with expensive rent like University Park to dingier old apartments with cheaper affordable rent. So, really, there is the whole scope of the UT Austin community living here."

"North University is a family friendly place, but there is a lot of traffic and it is highly populated."
- Barbara S.

"Parents should know that for UT students and faculty, this is definitely the quieter and cheaper alternative to living in West Campus. While a little farther than West Campus, North Campus is infinitely quieter and cleaner. However, it is pretty dark at night because of the lack of street lights, so I would definitely try to stay inside at night."

"There's been some negative press about central austin in the Statesman, but I don't see people being unhappy. This is a _great_ place to live. Walk to some of the best grocery stores and restaurants in town, all the energy of a college neighborhood, straight shot downtown for bike or bus..."
