"Riverside has access to everything as you a couple minutes from Mill Ave. The 10 freeway is also close as well as Sky Harbor airport. Everything you probably need is within a 15 minute drive if that. "

"It’s a college city. Mostly young people live here. It’s close to almost everything. It’s close to ASU"

"One can walk to any number of restaurants, bars, or coffee shops and the light rail is close enough to walk to (or ride a bike). Based on the level of development the amount of urban living activities will continue to increase over the next several years."

"This is an area that is changing and becoming more urban friendly. As someone else noted, a nice mix of transportation options with the local free bus Orbit, along with the light rail, within walking distance, and the bike paths are well laid out and the walkability score is quite high (my house is 77) and should continue to improve. Right now they are finishing up West 6th, the two large towers off of Mill, and that should provide some additional retail (probably to include at least a small grocery store) and a low income seniors community is being built right now, that should have 56 residencies, is being built right now in the Farmer's Arts district between 5th and 6th St and between the train tracks and Wilson Ave, which will improve the diverse mix of the community. Finally, there are so many things to do in this area, from events at Gammage and play houses on ASU to cultural events at Tempe Center for the Arts and regular events at Tempe Town Lake and annual street fairs on Mill Avenue. As someone else noted, the area also has quite a selection of restaurants to choose from ranging from extremely affordable and casual (e.g. Casey Moore's) to fairly high end and upscale (e.g. Cafe Boa). For those who like to be able to walk out there door and have a variety of options to choose from in the immediate area, a nice place to live. Even my parents, who have retired and want to move to Phoenix, have fallen in love with this area and want to find a place in the surrounding community. By the way, not a Realtor, I actually moved out here so I could catch the light rail to work and now my favorite part of the area, being able to take walks by Tempe Town Lake, great exercise and a wonderful view, and it is only, as far as I can tell, going to get better."

"This area has changed over the last 5 years ( been here since 1998 ). Used to be very low key except during holidays. Many smaller single family homes and low density apartment buildings. Now there are several townhouse complexes within less than a mile of each other. Very bike and pedestrian friendly, just watch out for trust fund kids driving their Beemers in excess of posted speed limits and ignoring stop signs. The noise level is MUCH higher. Still see many of the same faces but due to a high number of renters, there is a constant state of flux. There is a bleed off from Mill Ave. on the weekends and during special events, so expect some craziness. Shopping is a drawback. The closest supermarket is over a mile away. You will become very familiar with Tempe Marketplace. Drug stores, convenience stores more plentiful. Mill Ave. has restaurants and bars in walking distance, where you may pay top dollar and perhaps wait on line. The presence of ASU permeates the area - many students, undergrad and graduate. More of an ethnic mix now, than ten years ago. Public transport is optimal - you can ride the blue Orbit buses, catch the regular Metro buses, or get on the nearby Light Rail. Traffic control during events has improved dramatically over the last five years. Although crimes are sometimes reported, the area is patrolled more frequently. If you leave your bike outside unlocked, it will disappear quickly. Some streets look a little deserted late at night so I would say use common sense. Despite appearances, this is not Winesburg, Ohio. "
