5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDon’t pay attention to the bad reviews! This school is totally different than it was a few years ago. The teaching and academics have always been great, but the behavior did go downhill with a few poor administrators. My son has a great two years and is excelling in high school.Parent Review1mo ago18 Reviews - Maria Carrillo High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers at Binkley are amazing and dedicated and the families are involved! It’s overall a good school, however if you ever have to work with/deal with the principal that’s when there are issues. She behaves/ says things to students one way and does a 180 in front of and to parents. She is extremely disingenuous no matter how hard (and she tries very hard) to portray something else. I don’t believe the students come first for her, she is more interested in looking for the easy way out for herself. Sadly she has even been caught in many lies etc. I am not the type to leave these reviews, and again the teachers are lovely overall but she is a huge deficit for this school. We had an amazing principal before and the difference between the two is stark!Parent Review1y ago16 Reviews - Spring Lake Charter

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe reached out to Hannah Bates (principal) on 8/20/2025 in regards to transferring our child out of their assigned school to this campus. At the time, we had concerns over the Junior High merging with the Highschool. We were told that there were 10 students on the wait-list already, but she stressed that hardly any of the people she had reached out to, wanted to remove their now established kids from their current campuses. So the chances seemed pretty likely that we'd get our child in, she made it seem very promising. They sent us a registration packet, we returned it within an hour. Today is 9/9/2025. I have since reached out to Hannah to see what the current status is, and gotten no response back. I can now see why families are opting to not send their children there, after all. Why would I send my child to a campus where the Principal can't even respond to messages, or follow-up with any questions we may have? Such incredible negligence. No thanks, we'll take our chances on the other campus. She has zero sense of urgency. Beware.Parent Review10mo ago18 Reviews - Check out schools near 6431 Montecito Blvd.

"I always see people walking their dogs on leash in the neighborhoods. There are breed restrictions to keep in mind. I wish apartments & landlords were more open to larger breeds "

"Backcountry roads winding through wine country. Half an hour morning commute double that coming home because of all the work trucks, cement mixer trucks, heavy dump trucks, farming equipment and clueless tourists. "

"Dog owners don’t pick up their waste. Usually, the smaller the dog the less likely the owner thinks they should be a good person. Completely unacceptable."

"i lived in this neighborhood for years. parking is a mess because no one uses their garage for cars. the houses are cheaply made and in terrible condition. it is a very safe neighborhood. there are stray cats everywhere to keep the rodent population under control. great location if you like to walk. "The neighborhood is great, but the number of young families is diminishing. Cost of housing is too high for most young families. This is not good for sustaining good elementary schools and child-friendly spaces. Hope things turn around quickly or this area will be a 55+ community soon."

"Our area is nice, pretty clean and good schools. We had fires 5 years ago, the likelihood of it happening here again is pretty slim. Excellent grocery store, an a few restaurants and good stores. We have lived here for about 7 years. We have no desire to move. Also it easy access to freeway and shopping centers. And hospital and medical clinics. Farmers markets every Wednesday and Saturday. Excellent area for families and friends. 100 words are hard to come up with."
