"Halloween our street is the hot street. We have probably 300 kids per year to hand out candy too. It’s a mad house!"

"Highland,Illinois is a small town with a great family-friendly community. You feel safe here and you get to know your neighbors or might have grown up with them. There are many churchs of all different denominations, a public library and a wonderful school district (and a Catholic school system). Highland has a hospital, 2 medical centers, lots of doctors and dentists, a CVS, Walgreens, and a Walmart for prescriptions. Highland has a Recreation Center with a fitness center, many classes, an indoor swimming and a small water park. We also have several parks and a small lake - Silver Lake, Glik Park, Lindendale Park, Spendler Park, and Totlot park. We have an old fashioned downtown square with a large gazebo and fountain. Highland is also only about 30 minutes from St. Louis, Missouri which allows you access to a large city with an International airport, a Metro link system, a world famous zoo, and great shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Highland is also very close to Southern Illinois Univeristy Edwardsville and Scott Air Force Base. Highland is serviced by the Madison County bus system. Highland is also very senior-friendly with many retirees living in Highland and lots of events for them. Many professional organizations have groups in Highland - Jaycees, Rotary, Lions, Masons, BPW, Women's Civics club, VFW hall, K of C, and this is just a list of a few! Highland has a very active Chamber of Commerice, a Historical group and an Arts/Culture community. Highland has a little bit for everyone. "
