"nothing special in this neighborhood other than community tag sale, holiday decorating and one picnic."
  • Stephen D.
"This is not a kid friendly area other than the beach. Most people are retired. There is a county park with recreation facilities but that is it."
  • Jujo4
"We have vacationed here for the last 12 years. It is always a great time to spend with family and create traditions."
  • Jo A. B.
"You see folks walking their dogs all the time on the sidewalks. it is a beautiful, family oriented beach."
  • Helenakapalka
"it's a great community for families and retirees who are not going to have more money than they have to have to pay for their own health insurance, "
  • Debbie T.
"There’s only one child (lives with grandparents) whom I regularly see in my neighborhood so I wouldn’t exactly consider it “child friendly”; though all of the neighbors are extremely protective of him when he’s outside playing. At 59 I’m the “token” youngster in my neighborhood so perhaps other more youth oriented areas would be viewed differently..."
  • Debra H. T.
"Private vehicle (owned or “Uber” required). Public transportation is not available in this area; issue common for small coastal communities."
  • Smpartrick
"There is no public transportation. You need to drive everywhere! Walking to grocery stores, restaurants, post office, etc. is not an option for most. There are very few sidewalks. Most people who live here have at least one car, if not two. Some have golf carts that are street legal. Bicycling and mopeds are another option, but for daytime transportation use only. "
  • Angela E.
"Walking and personal transportation is mostly used in my neighborhood. I haven’t seen public transportation used as of yet. "
  • Cheryl M
"Lots of dogs - mostly smaller ones! Always on leashes and owners are good about cleaning up after them! "
  • Cleedixon
"Coastal community with a home town feel. Lots of amenities and activities for all. This is my first time to this area of the coast to stay having always stayed in Myrtle Beach instead of NC... NC is great for the family environment"
  • Wyndfall Dr
"It seems like residents who walk their dogs don’t ever clean up their dogs waste. They walk their pets on leashes but allow them to do their “business” in an anyone’s front yard and just continue walking..."
  • D
"Nice part of the world - lots of things to do, or not - which ever you prefer. I consider this easy living..."
  • Kelsea G.
"People are always walking their dogs in the neighborhoods, as long as you pick up after your pet it’s always okay! "
  • Snackbarperson
"Love this area and would never leave.... been here for 26 yrs love love SUNSET BEACH GREAT PLACE TO LIVE AND RETIRE AT "
  • Mrd0508
"The most beautiful beach on the coast! Sunset Beach is our heaven on earth! We waited along time and worked very hard to get here! Truly a dream come true!"
  • Sheryl F.
"I work from home 60% of the time. Office is 10 minutes away when I do go into the office. Commute is easy and low stress! "
  • Sheryl F.
"Fabulous golf course - lots of wildlife on/in our pond. Close to the beach but no flood insurance needed! "
  • Rkm610
"Wyndfall Community HOA is a nightmare, they physically measure your grass with a tape measure to ensure it is below 4” in height. HOA board members will knock on your front door and if you do not answer it immediately they will go to the rear of your home and walk right inside through a back door if it is unlocked. That has occurred on two occasions and to two different residents that I am aware of. I don’t know how we’ve managed to live within this development for 10 years..."
  • Michael D.
"Best area to retire. Temperate temp throughout the year."
  • D_duganne
"I have been in this location over 20 yrs. Love Sunset Beach, NC"
  • davidmarkrucker
"Beautiful views, quiet, close to beach, water access for boats. Not for everybody (very quiet island with little shopping) but paradise to us."
