"No place for children to play; apartment housing mostly in the area plus assisted living close by along with gated communities. Mostly area is set up for singles or couples. Not alot of areas for kids to play in ,only walking/biking path for families to utilize. There is a community garden nearby. Have to have a vehicle to grocery shop, banking or pharmacy. "
  • Kim
"Sarasota is a nice city but overcrowded. Traffic is often heavy. Beach and downtown parking can be extremely difficult. "
  • Deb Gerardi
"I work less than 5 miles away from my home so the commute is nothing. But when I go anywhere in Sarasota it takes about 45 minutes to get anywhere sometimes it takes an hour. "
  • Kim
"My neighborhood is in a nice area but it’s so overcrowded. Traffic delays are common and it can be difficult to enjoy the things that make Sarasota special. "
  • Deb Gerardi
"Traffic is horrible in Sarasota, and the beaches are over crowded. Over development is ruining the small town feeling of Sarasota unfortunately it used to be really nice to live here. "
  • Dianamr79
"Family friendly, kids around, safe, beautiful beach and great weather. Best schools in the area, nice houses with many amenities and a lot of activities for everybody. It is living in paradise! "
  • Yejide O.
"Its quiet its peaceful, theres nothing harming in this are and no noise when you’re trying to sleep like other neighborhoods "
  • Allyson P.
"Lots of activities at the clubhouse and nice neighbors. Also like the dog park Great way to make new friends for us and our dogs! "
  • Amanda D.
"There are sidewalks so you can stay off the main roads. There’s not much grass other than what is in front of people’s homes. "
  • Carol W.
"there are mostly over 65 aged population living in this neighborhood. Schools are a long way away and the few children who live here are bussed to the neighborhood. County maintains the streets in this development also county controls parking so that can be problematic. "
  • Massello16
"Great neighbors and everyone looks out for each other. All lawns are well maintained and people are overall very friendly. The HOA is rather inexpensive and people adhere to guidelines. Shopping and restaurants are within walking distance, along with public transportation."
  • Carol W.
"you must always have dog on a leash if outside and this neighborhood is mostly 50 per cent snow bird owners. So they don't always go by rules so pop isn't picked up "
  • Barbara H.
"It is a very pleasant neighborhood to walk in with or without a dog. It is shaded and very quiet most of the time with well manicured lawns and landscaping"
  • Trulia User
"Not a good place for a dog, no place to walk them that won’t aggravate neighbors. Try somewhere else if you are a dog owner."
  • Mmerchant513
"Dog owners are very friendly! I see mostly small dogs. Residents are very kind and clean up after pets."
  • Ktaylorim
"It’s a wonderful family friendly environment for all ages and lifestyles. I find it unique in its neighborhoods. That’s what Palmer Ranch is maintaining in its expansion; its developing families, friends and neighbors. Safe enjoyable, lush and continuously maintained landscaping are just some of the reasons to enjoy the outdoors! The Legacy Trail, Siesta Key, St. Armands Cir., Longboat Key are in a quick drive (depending on the season) and there are plenty of local stores, shops, and restaurants to choose from. This is my paradise! A gorgeous genuinely safe, people friendly, lush and peaceful environment all 10 minutes from the beach’s! Palmer Ranch, I’m home!"
  • Ktaylorim
"Great neighborhoods in Palmer Ranch! Respectful neighbors, drivers that stop for crosswalks and help each other safely get animals that need assistance cross our sometimes busy road. The endless beautifully landscaped sidewalks, friendly passers by, dogs parks, the Legacy Trail, periodic benches for resting and close enough to stores to re-hydrated or replenish."
  • Scotthagan34
"nice homes good prices nice neighbors gated nice sidewalks great community events nice area for walking amazing weather"
  • John a. S. G.
"Village Walk is obviously a very walkable neighborhood. With exercise trails leading to community recreation facilities such as tennis courts, fitness center and lagoon pool(s). Neighbors can always been seen walking, with family or pets enjoy this area. With all this nature the community still has it's own shops AND is close to all Palmer Ranch has to offer. Check it out today!!! "
  • Retasaffo
"It's a very safe and very clean and well manicured area. Really about the only place to buy in Sarasota for the $250K to $550K price range that isn't all junky and hodge podge. The only problem for me would be the lack of good restaurants in the area. You have to drive downtown for that, but you'd not get much for your money if looking for a home downtown---- so, it's a real toss-up here. But a very lovely area to live in-- and the safest in Sarasota except maybe for Laurel Oaks area which is way too far out and way too stiff (and higher in price)."
  • 2002ssslp
"Great place for retired or couples with children. Schools are superb, area is pristine, quiet neighborhoods and numerous parks and close proximity to the beach. "
