"It’s a safe and very welcoming neighborhood. People are respectful of others properties and very friendly. "
  • Steve M.
"Great during the summer....not so much during winter. Terrible during The Renaissance festival. No public transportation available. Not a good walkability score. No real choices for grocery stores since the is only one in the immediate area. "
  • Josh K. .
"It’s nice (definitely quiet) but a little far removed from the rest of the East valley and there are a lot of old people "
  • James E.
"No streetlights at night. Not many through streets. Very close to the Superstition Mountains. A lot of wildlife can be seen from your own property; bobcats, coyotes, Javelinas, and tons on birds."
  • Sandspring151
"Community activities and wonderful Neighbors make this gated community a wonderful place to live. We take pride in our neighborhood And even have a dog pack meet everyday. "
  • Glazierhorse
"Wine tasting, games, dinners, hiking, great neighborhood, beautiful scenery, rural, quiet, clean, off road."
  • Glazierhorse
"Beautiful mountains, hiking trails, equestrian, golf and great people! Love living here and love my community. "
  • Debrawilson54
"Sick of all the dogs barking, noisy vehicles and rude people moving here. I do not like it here at all anymore."
  • Debrawilson54
"The dog owners are so rude they think it okay to put their dogs poop in my trash pail and don’t seal the bag. Now I have to keep my pail in my garage. Dogs bark incessantly in my neighborhood I am sick of it at am moving because of all the noise. Gold Canyon used to be wonderful now it’s loud and noisy all the time."
  • Missvjarrett
"The wildlife can be kind of dangerous in the area, but not the people. It’s very crime free. I always wish we were closer to shopping centers though. "
  • Avonlea H.
"there's a dog park here in gold canyon... and most people here like dogs and will ask you about your dog. neighbors can get angry if your dog barks too much though."
  • TG
"Quit, safe neighborhood with great places to hike. Good selection of churches locally. Easy access to Mesa and Phoenix for great shopping, but with more of a small town feel. Plenty of golfing for residents and visitors. Close to Canyon lake and quick access to the Superstition mountains and the great outdoors. Annual Lost Dutchman marathon winds through Gold Canyon and is fun to watch. Many neighborhood trails and it is a quick trip to hike Silly mountain."
  • Resident
"It's quiet. Visitors say it's peaceful. This is a snowbird community but not entirely. We and others live here year 'round. We're only minutes from the highway. You'll see mostly retirement-aged people here but many younger as well."
  • Candy S.
"I've lived in this area all my life. snd I love it. I like the views of the superstition mountains. everyone is friendly."
  • tclc40
"This is a beautiful Picachio model home built by Shea homes, with sweeping views of the Mountainbrook 16th fairway, and the Superstition Mountains. The home has a separate detached casita."
  • Kelly P.
"Gold Canyon is Arizona's secret gem. With the Superstition Mountains in the background where ever you look, the beauty is unsurpassed! Take a walk, or go to the shopping center, night or day without a worry about safety. Outstanding hiking trails, beautiful sunsets, close enough to Phoenix & Mesa, but far enough away from the hustle & bustle. There's nowhere else I'd rather live!!"
  • tclc40
"A beautiful scenic area outside the hustle and bustle of the Phoenix-Mesa area, but still accessible within 15 minute drive. "
  • Shawn Z.
"I have lived in this area and still visit friends in this area."
