Community Description

When looking for a new place to call home, Suffolk is such a diverse area with so many options from countryside farmlands to small town living to modern urban dwelling, you are sure to find just what you are looking for in Suffolk, Virginia!

Suffolk is the largest city in Virginia by area (429 sq miles) stretching from the border of North Carolina up to the banks of the James River. In all of its vast area, Suffolk has something for everyone. Home to The Dismal Swamp, Suffolk preserves the local ecology, while still making room for growth.

But one of the other beautiful qualities of Suffolk is its proximity to the larger Hampton Roads Area. From downtown Suffolk, jump on Hwy 58 and you are within 30 min to an hour of many of the military installations and Norfolk Naval Shipyard. If a day at the beach is what you long for, you can be sinking your toes in the sand in about 45 min. And a quick trip over the James River on either the Monitor Merrimack Bridge/tunnel or the James River Bridge will give you easy access to the Peninsula and passage up I95 into all of northern Virginia.

Parts of Suffolk are nestled along the Nansemond and James Rivers. Miles of waterfront property make this a great area to search for that perfect home with a view. Communities along the James River are found in more modern areas like Harborview. The Harborview area has grown up in recent years with beautiful new-construction communities and contemporary shopping, dining and entertainment complexes. Nearby Bennett's Creek Park is 57 acres of nature trails, picnic areas with covered shelter, crabbing, disc golf, skate park, and tennis courts. This area of Suffolk still has quiet streets and simple... Note: The community dot reflects the builder's design center, sales center, or other physical business address. The builder's plans reflect the price of the home itself and does not include the property. You are responsible for providing the property on which these plans will be built.
