6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average2 of my 3 boys have been to WLES and they love/loved it! Everyone is so friendly. The talking points app makes it easy to communicate with your child's teacher. I do wish security was tighter as I worry about my children in today's world. Carpool in the afternoon is a little chaotic sometimes which is understandable. Not all cones have kids ready to let the other kids into the car because they are not paying attention and/or havw lwdt rheir cone..Safety should be key! Principal, teachers and staff are all kind and the school is very clean and inviting! Keep up the good work West Lake Wallabies!!Parent Review1mo ago - West Lake Middle

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFeel like being lost all the time and not having an idea of what is going on with your children’s school? Then this is the school for you. No one responds to you if you reach out- not teachers, administrators, or counselors. They are not welcoming at all and the PTSA doesn’t help that feeling either. They had a ton of staffing issues and the students barely knew what was going on and the parents were kept in the dark about that and all kinds of things. If you try to talk to anyone about this, IF they even respond, they act like they listen but nothing changes. This has been the worst experience in an academic setting for both of my kids. I’m not sure what we are going to do next year because it is literally that bad. We worry about the quality of education they are getting. The sports program is not great either, so no saving grace in that department. I wish there were some redeeming qualities, but we have found zero. My kids cannot wait for this year to be over to maybe reset. I do not recommend this school- if you have other options, by all means, TAKE THEM.Parent Review10mo ago - Middle Creek High

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMiddle Creek has its pros and cons. I would say around half of the teachers are excellent, and the other half to put it simply, are not. The bathrooms are nasty, but I guess that is to be expected. The school is relatively safe, although "stuff " is used. There are good sports, and extracurriculars, such as theatre, and clubs. The equipment in the classrooms is pretty old and out of date, and some is entirely damaged. For the most part, the kids here are kind, but of course, some people can be mean. I would say, all in all, Middle Creek is a fine school.- Current Middle Creek MustangStudent Review1y ago - Wake Early Coll Heal

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is a terrible choice for parents and students looking for a supportive teachers. Teachers will rarely listen to or try to understand a student's point of view. The administration will ignore many student concerns without any investigation unless parents interfere. Many of the work handed is just busy work and rarely has an impact on student learning. There are some helpful teachers but there are even more cruel teachers. It's incredibly hard to fix grades that a student didn't deserve without parental interference. The courses offered are very restrictive as well.Student Review8y ago - Wake Nc State Univ Stem Early College High School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have had an amazing experience as a student at this school. This has made me not only ready for college but also the professional world. Throughout my four years here I was able to grow and learn through the help of the incredible students and staff. I can't wait to see what Wake STEM becomes.Student Review4y ago - Wake Young Men's Leadership Academy

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhile we have had a few bumps getting our boy engaged, the leadership have been great partners with looking at options. This school is a college prep school so there is not an emphasis in the Arts, but more a focus on core curriculum. We love that there are male teachers teaching our boy as they provide examples of strong role models. We love the uniforms!Parent Review2mo ago - Wake Young Women's Leadership Academy

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAll teachers are very attentive and helpful especially Principal Baker during this pandemic. We are very lucky to belong to a school who treats the children as their own.Parent Review3y ago - Check out schools near 9315 Lake Wheeler Rd #46BLN2.

"There are a lot of off leash dog walkers in the area (most dogs are well trained but still) and nobody picks up poop. "
- Bekahjaeger

"Plenty of dogs but lots of no poop signs. People are generally friendly towards dogs here. There is a small path behind our neighborhood good for walking."

"This is a very safe area that was ranked as one of the safest cities in America. There are plenty of nice parks for walking or riding. Easy commutes to RTP, shopping or downtown Raleigh. Many conveniences nearby for anything you need. The schools are very good. Most importantly I feel the curb appeal is far above average, neighborhoods are kept up and people are friendly. We’ve lived in 7 states and two countries and chose this area for our retirement! Housing is still fairly affordable but rising fast! "

"Our neighborhood is unique because we freely offer a sense of community to every resident. We are a career military (retired) family and have lived overseas and in numerous states over the past 35 years, many of them being lovely areas. We have never lived in a friendlier, more well-kept, safer, more respectful neighborhood."
