3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe principal has no control over bullying my daughter was bullied for 3 years on and off I had to call the school bored because the principal doesn't suspended the children or anything my daughter got bullied by an older child at lunch multiple time and spit on at lunch by a older child at lunch ,which leads me to wonder where are the teacher in the cafeteria and what are they doing? The principal will stop answering your calls when bulliny becomes and issues so ve prepared to call the school bored like I did .the traffic is dangerous in that school you can wait an hour near the gate to pick ur child up and parent will park on the grass to cut you off it take an hour to pick up ur child and ur battling parents who keeps trying to cut you off and cuss you our because their no police out their their are cars who will speed around you in the school zone and the amount of time I have almost seen a child get hit is extremely crazy I have begged for the school to have police out their directing the traffic for children and are safety but she doesn't .I have had to call the police a couple of time because the dangerous traffic and the disgusting parents who keeps trying to cut people off to pick up their child and refuse to wait like the rest of the people who goes in line early.Parent Review8mo ago8 Reviews - Silver Sands Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went here one year in 2021/2022. The kids were rude, toxic, and unaccepting and from what I’ve heard from students who still go there they still are. When I went there, there were always fights and many kids harassed others while the teachers nor the kids did anything about it. The staff was terrible and the teachers didn’t do anything about the bullying going on in their classrooms but the academic parts weren’t that bad. If you reported anything to the office they didn’t do anything about it or if they did the student who got in trouble still continued their bad behavior.Other Review2y ago11 Reviews - Atlantic High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLast year, 2023-2024 year, I didn't have many issues with this school as a parent of a freshman student. This year, 2024-2025 year, I have had nothing but problems. The staff is rude, they do not respond to concerns when receiving messages that my child is not at school when in fact he is. They can't verify his presence, even though he is in testing they require. I get these new 'safety' messages all day and when I call concerned, they do nothing but say I have to wait for someone to figure it out and update their system. I don't think that was the purpose of these new messages. Escalating to the principal has done nothing. I would not recommend this school.Parent Review1y ago10 Reviews - Check out schools near Tomoka Farms Rd #A0I8QB.

"Nice area compared to many places I’ve lived/visited over my lifetime. I feel safe enough to walk my 2 13# dogs at 2am in my robe and Jammie’s Have not had issues with property crime or violence in the decade I’ve been in this house. Recommend highly "

"I have lived here for a decade and have had no issues with neighbors at all. I feel safe walking my dogs late at night alone. The city center and riverside park have frequent community events. There is also a YMCA in the city center near the library. Family friendly area overall."

"Traffic is always a concern, especially in regard to speeding. Lots of locals are trying to cut around the new developed areas like shopping, so many unsafe situations occur if you are one to walk"

"While New Smyrna, a neighboring town is extremely dog friendly, I feel Port Orange could do more to make dog owners and their feel welcome. I would like to see more restaurants with patios that welcome well behaved dogs. I would also like to see more local dog parks. "

"City center is fun , I like how it’s nicer than other parts in Volusia we have kids playing and family’s . Just seems a bit more at home I would say all around . I highly recommend the schools too . All around it is just beautiful versus on beach side it’s hit and miss . There’s some two story homes as well and lakes and park . I really enjoy it here ! "

"I have lived in Port Orange, Florida for a few months shy of "30"years. I lived in Ormond Beach for only 3 months and it would have been less, but I had to save $, for our move. The schools were horrible. P.O. IS THE BEST CITY IN VOLUSIA TO RAISE A FAMILY & ALL OF THE SCHOOLS ARE RATED NATIONALLY A 5!!!"

"It’s a nice little city. It’s awesome being so close to the beach, stay away from holly hill. There aren’t many jobs but you’ll just have to drive to Orlando, or somewhere in between. The area I live in is very quiet and a lot of the neighborhoods in port orange are. "
