3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLast year my daughter went to Lee for the vocal magnet. Her teachers were fantastic. She had a connection with each of them, they all sought to help her learn. Sometimes it was tough-love, sometimes it was just plain old help. The magnet was supposed to be bigger last year than it actually was (incidentally, it is promising to be big again this year - so I guess we'll see), even so my daughter participated in All City choir, All State Choir, Trumbauer (she went to state), the yearly Lee Lyric Musical, Solo & Ensemble Assessment, and 3 school choir performances. In addition to that she auditioned for and got into the musical theater class. As a parent of a kid with talent, I couldn't be happier. The magnet program has provided her with the opportunities she needed, plus real, legitimate training for her voice and acting (a big shout out to Ms. Viv Atkins, she is going to miss you so much this coming year!).Parent Review10y ago4 Reviews - Chapman Middle School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCompetent Teachers and Administrators are doing everything they can to teach; but they can't do it alone. They need more adults from the community working with kids 1:1 on site in the early grades for reading at Chapman and the feeder schools. Only a dozen neighbors in the surrounding area who are retired are there at Chapman helping teach reading. And the Older kids desperately need mentors and coaches to get to know them, help keep the athletics and music and clubs going strong. The surrounding neighborhoods need to be at the school, as coaches, tutors, workers, and yes, fund raisers reaching outside the parent circles. Frequently, the neighbors / parents who have kids in the school are working two jobs and simply don't have energy left to volunteer or don't have the skills to help out. Days are gone for blaming parents. Public schools are the public responsibility. "We've lived in HSV Hills for many years and love the friendly neighbors! We've lived in Pill Hill & Piedmont; HSV Hills has the privacy and retreat of those neighborhoods, without the steep hills/long drives to everything. Very safe, well-established, primely located community near Hampton Cove, affords the best of both worlds: peaceful hillside privacy & proximity to everything. Near premier schools, The Arsenal, library/community center, churches, greenways, golf, shopping & restaurants galore. "
