3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe administration at this school is seriously lacking in teaching our children and feel that policing the school is the priority over educating the students, I can truly say their are a few select teachers that are amazing educators at this school, however the office staff (Principle and Vice Principle) are repulsive and unwilling to help in a child's education, I never in the three years that my son attended this school received any help with my sons education and I had asked numerous times just to hear what they would do but never followed through with, I even contacted the Granite School District and had no help from them either just a lot of pass the buck and "this is who you need to talk too". I feel bad for any student who attends this Jr. High School and I wish the parents and the students the best of luck while attending Valley Jr. High.Parent Review15y ago2 Reviews - Check out schools near Redwood Rd #ECQREY.

"The people in my neighborhood are friendly and helpful. We also have good parks, local shops, and community events that bring people together"

"The earlier I leave in the morning the better, being behind a school bus is a nightmare. There’s too many blind corners with no sidewalks"

"There are efforts for neighborhood get-togethers at least a couple times a year. The planning efforts are good and the turnout also seems to be very good."

"Most of my neighbors are multiple families/generations living in one house. This makes for congested streets, as the neighbors each have more cars than will fit in the driveway and park on the streets."

"Haven’t experienced any events yet. But I enjoy the area and some of the neighbors. The ball park is pretty close so it’s cool to hear the entertainment from that."

"My neighborhood has easy access to transportation, freeway hubs, light rail not far, and bus routes. it is well maintained and a great place to live. The city, cultural events, religious institutes, historical sights, music venues or the great mountainous or desert outdoors are only minutes away. "

"I have lived in the same neighborhood since 1994. My neighbors new and old are friendly. I live on a quiet street that doesn't get much traffic. I like that we now have multiple choices of schools for our children to attend. The charter schools are a welcome addition to our area. Charter schools are free, just like the state run public schools. We live near a large park with indoor and outdoor pools, skatepark, fitness center, baseball and soccer fields. We are walking distance from shopping and places to eat. "

"In my particular neighborhood there is a constant police presence due to continuous criminal activity. In my particular apartment complex alone we have witnessed multiple arrests. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this area unless you have a security system on a road set aside from the high traffic areas. "

"My neighborhood is going to pot. I feel like the violence keeps increasing and the police cannot keep up with it. Hearing shots fired is becoming the norm. It no longer even has an affect on my 15 year old child and that scares me me. I'm trying desperately to move out of this community. "

"This is a great neighborhood -- easy access to both highways for work or university -- unique style homes. Fantastic theatre, the mall for shopping/restaurants is getting better and better and is busy. The new downtown plan will bring a lot of value to the community of West Valley. New plans to improve the 2700 West road will make it a nicer place to walk and bike -- with new fencing and some help for older home exteriors planned. We have a friendly community/neighborhood that makes it safe for kids to play/bike around and prevents vandalism. We are close to the train/transit. I love my neighbors, who are very diverse and keep their homes and yards in nice shape. I like living in this area, after having lived in many areas from either end of the valley. You get more for your money 'right now' but this is one of the up-n-coming investment communities -- a last remaining along the wasatch front."
