2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThey won't let kids on their phones at lunch. This school is pathetic for a kids mental health. Let them rest and take a break. Better yet at lunch the deans and teachers need to surrender their phones. I get it during class it needs to be put away. The school is not safe. One year someone got shot. Some teachers are incompetent. Some teachers are way to good to be there. This school loses at all sports and has some of the worst test scores of any brevard school. Its a dump. I would suggest private school where the principle isnt drunk on power.Parent Review5mo ago6 Reviews - Lockmar Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has demonstrated ongoing issues with transparency, professionalism, and appropriate student treatment. As parents, we have repeatedly experienced information being withheld or misrepresented regarding our child’s academic performance and classroom conduct. In one instance, a teacher made a false accusation about our child’s behavior, which we were able to disprove. Rather than resolving the issue constructively, this situation further damaged the parent–teacher relationship due to a lack of accountability and professionalism.Several staff members have displayed a condescending and dismissive attitude toward parents, creating an environment that feels adversarial rather than collaborative. Communication from the front office has also been consistently unprofessional and unhelpful, which only compounds these concerns. As parents of multiple children at this school, and as members of a broader community of families who have reported similar experiences, we have formally escalated these concerns to the school board. The district director has acknowledged the complaints and has indicated that an investigation into the school’s practices will be initiated.Of particular concern are disciplinary practices that appear to be routinely applied across entire classes or grade levels, including:1.Silent lunch, which constitutes group punishment and raises legal and policy concerns.2.The repeated denial of recess, reportedly occurring almost daily for one or more grade levels. These practices, combined with the broader issues of communication, integrity, and professionalism, have significantly eroded our trust in the school’s leadership and staff. We believe these matters warrant serious review to ensure that students are treated fairly, lawfully, and with respect.Parent Review3mo ago11 Reviews - Southwest Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere’s no safety in that school. There’s many threats. Also so many kids pass around vapes and the teachers don’t notice, also they vape in class too. The education is horrible especially in math. Some of the staff are disrespectful, they always yell at kids that they don’t know. Also they dress code girls for no reason but if they know who you are (especially the popular kids) they won’t dress code them. The lunches are just a horrible mess. About tardies is just again horrible and that system of tardies doesn’t work. Overall wouldn’t recommend it..Student Review1y ago17 Reviews - Check out schools near 991 Crocus St NE #6JER82.

"I don't have children, but I personally know many teachers. These folks are truly committed to the children they teach, work countless overtime hours and take thier jobs very seriously. The kids safely ride and play on the streets in my neighborhood, and have plenty of woods and fields to roam around in."

"You need a car by lately city bus is available more than before. I have lived here 28 yrs! My neighbor hood is safe, we know our neighbors by name, we keep an eye on each other our homes and children. There r some elderly neighbors and we keep an eye and see if they need help, errands or just company! Where I live is closer to good schools, university, restaurants and stores, but u still feel the country feeling! "

"Nothing, it’s just affordable. I wish we had sidewalks and street lights but all that would increase our taxes and I’m on a fixed income and cannot afford higher taxes. I’ve lived here 15 yrs and hardly know anyone, people here are not the friendliest. "
