"Harrisburg is a friendly place. As long as you know where you are and are aware. Everyone typically looks out for each other "
  • 9h78f997kv
"There’s not much unique in my Neighborhood, other then we’re close to Hershey park and The Giant Center and not far from the highway. "
  • Trulia User
"Harrisburg is not a good place to raise a family the roads are not safe for driving your car the homes are ran down and the price of living is to expensive to live in a ran down city truly I advice no one to live in Harrisburg "
  • Christian Matos
"Book bag drives , back to school events , Easter egg hunts and different things they try to bring to light for kids to do something and do it in a safe environment "
  • Ravi Yarakaraju
"Public transport is limited and requires planning. Private transport is the easiest and most convenient. Traffic is not a problem."
  • Yaqin Jackson
"The environment is peaceful and gives me a sense of security. I appreciate the people in the neighborhood. "
  • Rachael Williams
"Public transportation is very limited but it’s fairly easy to get to downtown Harrisburg. There are shops within walking distance but they don’t offer much in the way of food"
  • Watercop33
"This is a big area for Dog owners and walkers. They all have dogs. We have one as well and the area is very dog friendly. "
  • Thbarber2
"My neighborhood is very safe inconvenient to public transportation shopping traffic is not bad walking the streets is not bad. It’s really nice to live here."
  • Donesia Torres
"I live by the neighborhood and it’s a better environment for my children. The schools are good in the area. "
  • Q6gkhvr7mc
"The neighborhood is surrounded by beautiful places to go outside go for a hike with your dog and let your dog smell and learn more about their environment. It’s a great place to own a dog!!"
  • Marialillian33
"It’s close to major locations and highways but off the beaten path where mostly people who live here are the only ones that enter the development."
  • Andrea Hunter
"Downtown Harrisburg but small town feel near the river is not the safest at all times but quant with good parks. Occasional car theft. Noise includes fireworks from neighboring community and bike gangs that ride through. Nearby lake offers community music events and good walking trails. Safe during the day. Sketchy at night. "
  • 37maxwell
"Private vehicles are way more popular in the suburbs than public transportation. Highways are being expanded exponentially "
  • Ericaroseboro31
"Very nice and respectful and everybody get along and speak to one another , no one is rude or disrespectful "
  • Joe Ray
"Open area for dog to roam with their owners. So they can get some exercise and have some fun enjoying nature and not be bothered. "
  • Priscila Fleitas
"I definitely hav3 bad experience in this neighborhood, hopefully leaving soon. I feel unsafe people is rude. I think I am. In the wrong side of the city but I wish I knew more the are before we bough this house."
  • Carolina Nicholson
"Our rental community puts together monthly things to do and that makes it nice as a community around here. "
  • Markamore3
"I’ve lived here for going on 9 years and I feel this is the better area of Harrisburg. With it being close enough to local restaurants & businesses., it’s a great central location from Hershey, Camo Hill, Mechanicsburg, & Middletown. It’s an ideal location."
  • Violet G.
"It depends what area you live in. I think the area is getting a lot more of an inner city feel to it. There are private schools to sent kids to. I would either send my child to a private school or move to a smaller community."
  • Xq4rqmmsnk
"Is nice very clean and peaceful place to live, it’s safe for kids to play and ride bicycle around the neighborhood."
  • Gdzettlemoyer
"None really. We are supposed to have a park soon. So hopefully they can build that and there will be stuff there "
  • Trulia User
"Nothing special here. I cant wait to move out. There is a lot of hit and runs as well. People have no respect for other peoples belongings. "
  • Trulia User
"nothing it's just an area that is well known to me to feel comfortable in the community as well as my kids feeling comfortable with the area to also go to school in "
  • Trulia User
"Broken glass and trash along sidewalks, beautiful river walk, uneven messed up sidewalks, busy intersections depending on time of day "
  • Trulia User
"It's a quiet neighborhood, some local businesses, close to parks like Italian lake, Front Street and local schools. "
  • Trulia User
"It’s nice to live here. Just get a bit worried when it rains for long periods of time because of possible flooding."
  • Trulia User
"There’s wonderful people here, who don’t judge you for being a renter or owning home. Then, there are some who formed a clique to enforce some HOA-like policies."
  • Trulia User
"I've lived in this neighborhood for 2 years now an it's quite an neighborly with a hospital nearby UPMC"
  • Trulia User
"A great place to raise kids! Very safe. We have never had any issues since we moved here. Community is clean with everything few mins drive away "
  • Maurice
"Uptown, Harrisburg is a diamond in the rough, that is going thru a current transition. Miton Hershey us opening a new school in the Uptown neighborhood. PA Archives and Federal Courthouse and now been added and a slew of great local grub, that you can eat and stroll by the Susquehanna River. Properties for sale are scarce, but they are a great entry price that you can have room to renovate to your liking. People are generally respectful and the crime(if any) is usually personal, respectively. "
  • Trulia User
"I don't know. I do not own a dog. The neighborhood is very peaceful and quiet. I live in a shelter so I won't be here too much longer "
  • Trulia User
"Almost every home has a dog, so it’s nice seeing tons of em on walks throughout the weeks. Everyone is respectful of each others spaces."
  • Trulia User
"3rd in the Burg used to be very popular in this area. I'm not sure if it still takes place. That was a very good special event. That much I do remember. I used to work in a furniture store on 3rd St."
  • Trulia User
"Downtown Harrisburg is easy to get to which has events, parades, and all year round fun. It’s enjoyable to walk to and along the Susquehanna River front and Italian Lake. It’s also easy to go to the West Shore or the East Shore for many options for shopping, grocery, and entertainment. "
  • Trulia User
"Great commute neighborhood schools aminties resident pool great work environment walking distance have strong income and very 1300 a month and a great youth for your community very reliable and on time with responsibility "
  • Trulia User
"There’s been high crime in the area recently I’d stay out of the city or midtown/uptown if you have children "
  • Trulia User
"I think it is important to let the parents know that this neighborhood is very peaceful. U rarely hear about anything happening around Midtown. Acceptance of community guidelines required"
  • Trulia User
" Close to recreation like the Susquehanna, the park, city island, restaurant row, public library, the interstate."
  • Trulia User
"very crowded. hard to get parking some days, and people drive too fast through here. I think this place is best for young professionals thanks to location (close to shopping etc) and the amenities like tennis and the gym. as well as senior people thanks convenience and it being quiet and private, and small families like one child maybe 2 or it just feels too cramped no matter what apartment u have. there's people everywhere, except it's very prettyhere. it's like a bougie section 8."
