"We live on an acre. Every house has big yards that are well maintained. Neighbors are friendly and host monthly meetups. "
  • Nancyhiggs01
"Elementary schools here are excellent. Kids can walk down the street and have no fears. Everyone on our street knows each other and watches out for each other. Wonderful place to raise a family!"
  • Trulia User
"location great for shopping eating parks schools. very quiet friendly people lots of furbabies and kids can ride toys safely here"
  • Trulia User
"I used to have my private piano lessons in this neighborhood & visited friends in this neighborhood. It has always been one of my favorite neighborhoods in the city. I feel safe here."
  • Samriddell
"The Mule Day festival every year. The square downtown is very fun and family friendly. There are many good restaurants in the area. "
  • Qpriceisright
"Small town feel but close enough to go to our closest big city in no time. Also close enough to everything important."
  • Abbie.malcolm
"Downtown we have “first Friday” where on the first Friday of each month all of the shops and restaurants in the downtown area stay open later and there is food trucks, activities, and live music. Great for everyone. "
  • Michelle A. .
"Great access to public transportation. Nice parks and kid friendly areas close to the neighborhood. "
  • Butler.leslie20
"They would like that it’s a lot of space and things for them to do. Other than that it doesn’t have a dog bag "
  • Gary F.
"Bad neighborhoods, bad neighbors and not very safe overall around the area. Broken things and busted streets."
  • Gary F.
"Nothing but the amount of harassment and crime in the area. The lack of street lights is very disturbing as well."
  • Gary F.
"Lots of teenagers roaming the neighborhood and causing trouble. Trashing yards, kicking in backdoor, knocking over trash cans."
  • Michelle A. .
"Nothing really. Just lived in this neighborhood my whole life. It’s what you make of it. You just have to be the neighbor you want to have next to you"
  • Berenice P.
"It’s an amazing place to live in. There are many grocery and clothing stores nearby so it doesn’t take long to get there. "
  • Candy M.
"Been here since 12 yrs old and I am 37 now. Columbia has grown so much since then but still has its country side."
  • Erin H.
"This community is very beautiful. Great schools and pedestrian friendly. Downtown is like a set from a movie; very quaint and clean with southern charm. "
  • Anluel
"The neighborhood has a lot of dogs in yards so people are pretty dog friendly. There aren’t sidewalks so you’ll have to be ok with walking them on the street. "
  • Deidre S.
"I love being able to see the fireworks that the city puts on from my front yard/street! They do them a few times a year. "
  • AS
"Great historical neighborhood with very friendly folks! There are several “neighborhood watch”’organizations and several Facebook groups who discuss safety measures, odd occurrences, weather updates, lost/found pets, etc. Columbia is mostly a safe area, but like most cities, there are a few parts of town that I would not walk down, much less drive down. Police are always patrolling & being cautious of potential threats, and are quick to respond to danger!"
  • Rhonda W.
"Public access is available but that’s about it. It’s not suitable for children. Mostly older retired folks and no sidewalks or bike areas. "
  • Sara R.
"nice parks, history, downtown, dinner, art, livestock, festivals, mule day, Polk home, farms, hunting, fishing, rivers, boating, columbia State Community College, Duck River, Fishing Lakes, Close to Nashville, "
  • Trulia User
"Dog owners would like the neighborhood because of the friendly neighbors. They may not like the noise that is caused by people being outside often and maybe being close to a busy road. "
  • Anna M. B.
"Muleday. Riverside splash park. BBQ at Riverside. Multiple kids arks for children. Not to large not small. Panimal freedom. Polk Mansion. "
  • T. W.
"Spacious home lots and many nice parks nearby for walking. You get nearly twice the square footage in Columbia compared to Franklin and Nashviille. "
  • Pr.butler
"My neighborhood is a great safe area. Nice people, dog friendly, close to town but still country living. "
  • Melaniesanchez803
"They like to walk their dog in this neighborhood. Not everyone would prefer to have a sidewalk to have. "
  • Frank John
"very active neighborhood with a community page on the internet and community yard sales. Kids and adults always walking around. lots of renal houses kinda dragging the whole city down, imo. High rental costs compared to purchase costs and wages that don't increase. Just people trying to squeeze as much money out of others so they can live in mansions and take advantage of people. "
  • Juaneesejohnson
"Great neighborhood, very quiet! Safe to walk dogs and ride bikes! People decorate their homes and yards with holiday items!"
  • Janet H.
"my neighborhood has great access to major highways which take me to town within 10 min or out of town quickly."
  • Melvin K.
"Columbia is a safe place to raise your family. It's a great community to live with many great restaurants, shops, parks and golf course."
  • Janet H.
"I have lived here 40 yrs & it has always been a safe neighborhood. We all know each other & most of us have been here for many yrs."
  • Tracy
"It’s near everything which is convenient. The house is unique. And there’s an improvement movement going on in Columbia. "
