Nothing against the school itself but the entire SCUC district needs to get their act together. This district is by far the WORST my kids have ever attended. (My family has moved alot to where this is the 7th school my kids have gone to) no wonder there are so many homeschooling kids in this area. The school days (times) are absurd and each year they change. Longer school years, kids not getting out till 3:30 / 4:30, not to mention IF your kids makes sports teams they will be getting home even later! This district has a lot to learn. I wish my family could move back to our old town because that district has their *stuff* together.

My kid was bullied so much, he came to me and asked to be homeschooled. He also said most of his teachers were mean, and expected everyone in the class to learn the same way, and be good that way.

The principal of this school feels she does not have to follow the law concerning safety or treatment of special needs children. There have been multiple complaints lodged against her. When a tenured teacher with 16 years in the district with multiple accolades stood up to her, she had the teacher removed from the school because she felt she could not continue to work with her. The principal compromised her integrity multiple times but was close friends with the district superintendent, so nothing was done. Multiple teachers took jobs in other schools and districts because of her incompetence. She even took school business on Facebook and argued with parents and basically stated people were lying but refused to meet people as a group to discuss. Multiple incidents of “lost” children after school. Don’t send your kids here until she is removed. She refused to follow state directives for special needs children and showed no respect for concerned parents. Intimidation is her tool of choice. Very much a bully. If truth does not support her, she changes her story or makes up new charges, like stepping on the grass or having a secretary say the voice was loud.

We sought out Steele upon our return from overseas. It has been exactly what our son needed. The administration and teachers are responsive, and I am always informed. If you're looking for a diverse student body and support, Steele is the school for you.
