"There are good schools here. It is year round with a one break from late June to late July. It working class so you mostly only see your neighbors coming and going except on weekends."
  • Cynthia Rather Walker
"We are near the Marina and The Beacon Theatre. The High School Football field is also located in this area. Only one small park by the area. There are Bicycle lanes on all the main streets. Plus a very clean family owned Supermarket, a Hospital, lots of places to eat and close to other larger shopping areas and right off of Route 10 that connects to I-95 and I-295."
  • Trulia User
"This is a functional community that serves the military and adjacent communities well. It’s proximity to base makes it ideal for that purpose."
  • Trulia User
"Roaming dogs and animal feces left without being picked up. Other than that neighborhood is pretty great."
  • Benita F.
"We lived in the neighborhood for 3 years and we love it. It is very quiet where we live, we forgot to lock the door at night or when leave for work but none bothers. The people are friendly and looking out for each other, there are areas that has crime."
  • Trulia User
"There is a shooting in this area at least 4 times a week. This is not an area for a family with children. There are always fights going on in the streets. "
  • Cynthia R. W.
"This is a very safe neighborhood! Children play outside ! They is a park less than 5 minutes away. It is close to the water."
  • Marc J.
"There are 2 parks and a marina near by that the dog and owner may enjoy. Traffic is around 35 mph so not too crazy to enjoy your walk"
  • Michelle N.
"There is a huge number of stray and/or feral cats throughout this neighborhood. I do see a lot of people walking their dogs ok though. "
  • Michelle N.
"Not bad. It is accessible to everything and close to most employment areas. Highways are all easy to get to as well. Not much public transportation though. "

  • Cmthomas
"There are several schools within walking distance. There is a private school in the area. There is no real sense of community here. People walk through your yard and on your property despite signs."
  • James
"A loud, annoying, trashy bike rally that replaced a community business festival. A really cool Christmas ceremony. A boat parade. Oh and that walking dead thing"
  • James G.
"There are small parts of the neighborhood that are great, but others where a culture of a lack of safety has made it threatening "
  • Kaysha
"People speed on my street. There are multiple parks here though. Ice cream truck comes through the neighborhood "
  • Paula L. S.
"Important keep the child(ren) in the house and safe becuz this area is high crime as sell/buy the drugs. Police drives around the area. "

  • Yankyrose
"The events at the Beacon are great, and the new restaurants and businesses bring more life back into downtown. I've worked in area for almost 7 years and like the small town feel, even if movies are filmed here. some neighborhoods are suspect, but most neighbors look out for each other. "
  • mbrown7532
"I moved here in April 2018. Its relatively quiet. There is some crime but mostly preventable with locking car doors and having a dog."
