Today I made the decision to remove my 7year old son from Scott Libby Elementary school in Goodyear AZ.When I dropped him off Wednsday morning, he showed me where he has been sitting in class alone, separated from the other students, facing the wall while the rest of the class sits together in groups.At first, I honestly thought he was joking. He was not!I was deeply disturbed to learn that this had apparently been happening for about a month, possibly longer, and I was never notified that my child was being isolated or disciplined in this way.No child should be treated like this.As a parent, it is heartbreaking to realize your child may have been silently carrying this every day. I have noticed changes in my son’s behavior, and now I understand why.I brought this to the school’s attention, and I left feeling like my concerns were not taken seriously.I want to be very clear: isolating a 7 year old child away from peers like this is unacceptable. It is emotionally harmful, humiliating, and damaging.I am speaking out because no parent should have to find this out by accident, and no child should have to go through this alone.My son deserves better. I’ve had 2 kids go here so far and my 3rd will not be. I’ve given them chance after to chance to redeem themselves but unfortunately the teachers just do not care any the students success out of they are struggling. Their all about the numbers not in it with what their heart is set out to do. Help children be successful. I do not recommend this school.

They took 9 weeks to reply to me about setting up a 504 Plan for my child. The guitar teacher still hasn't ordered a left handed guitar for my left handed student in his class after 9 weeks. The Algebra teacher is incredibly inappropriate with the teens and is very immature. My LGBTQIA+ child has been endlessly bullied by conservative students. The communication is lacking between parents and staff. The staff, with the exception of one teacher, constantly misgenders my child. They charge money for their students to attend dances and stuff.. Some students cannot attend the $35 price tag (plus they charge for drinks and snacks there which is crazy) because their parents couldn't afford for them to go to Homecoming, which is just stupidly heartbreaking. I do NOT recommend this school if you have previously homeschooled your child, or otherwise been in a state with any decent education. My 6+ year homeschooled child is pulling straight A's in this school with very little effort. We are withdrawing and going back to having a quality education around decent human beings. The only thing this school has going for it is the counselor, Ms. Pham.
