i attended sunset all four years, i was a shy and quiet student and wouldnt really interact with other students. almost all of my teachers i had noticed that and would offer help to me whenever they could. whether it be if i wanted to come in during free period for extra help, needed extra time for a deadline or just tell me they would give me extra support/help.of course i had a few bad teachers, but overall all the teachers i did like were the best teachers ive had, they would almost always go above and beyond for their students. they motivated me to keep going even when i would really struggle. they wouldnt make me feel bad for doing bad on something. i made the best friends i could have during the last few years of hs. there are a lot of nice people at sunset, i never felt like i was bullied or targeted in any wayi loved eating the school lunch, the lunch ladies were all kindmost of the work i was assigned was easy to understand, i personally wasnt assigned a ton of homework so i feel like it was easier focusing on my main assignments. overall i loved this school, had a really good experience . id recommend this school definitely

I’m writing this review and hopefully many parents also willing to share their experiences as well.My child is currently 5th grade student, and without disclosing the gender and ethnicity. Hopefully, this will remain anonymous and fair reviews to the BSE. Learning and teaching: overall, I will give 3.5/5 to the school. The teaching and curriculum is definitely not challenging or anywhere near enough to prep the student to be ready for mid-school. Despite no-homework policy by BSD, there is not enough in-class work to keep the student engaged or understand about the subjects.Safety and emotional-support: this’s the primary reason that leads me to leave this review and comment. Overall, I will score this 1/5 or 0/5 if I’m allow to…The school is totally chaos…especially in the playground or other program outside of the homeroom teacher(it depends on the homeroom teacher you have, some of them are very incapable…). My child has shared multiple bully cases either experienced or witnessed… and the feedback from teacher or principal are not convincing and no further actions taken. In addition, they hired many unqualified assistance or teacher in the playground who is in charge of monitoring the situation. FYI, there is no consequences or whatsoever for children that demonstrates unwelcome behavior at school, unless the situation was endangering other’s life(pocket knife or gun type situations).I can’t comment on the special education due to lack of engagement or experience. Overall, I will pick Findley or Jacob Wismer over BSE.

This school is the worst middle school I have ever been to. I haven't been to any other middle school, but trust me when I say this, I WISH I DID. This school is full of people who do not care about you, and all they do it glaze the white, blonde kids and the popular girls. Recess isn't even fun because you need to grab an ID card and give it to an admin who holds it for the rest of the time there. Back in my day, we could just grab a ball and go. Now we have to give a card in exchange? This school is really messed up. Not only that, but when you are autistic, you are treated like you're in special education, putting you in a NON-OPTIONAL elective. This is why I hate this school. It's not even the teachers, it's every single student.
