Actor Shawn Ashmore Snags Haylie Duff’s Studio City Home For $1.85 Million

The “X-Men” star is putting his mark on Studio City.

Another day, another real estate purchase for one of Hollywood’s working actors. Shawn Ashmore, best known for his role as Bobby Drake/Iceman in the X-Men flicks as well as a run in the popular TV series The Following, just dropped $1.85 million on a three-bed, three-bath home in Studio City, CA. In true Hollywood style, he bought the sweet digs from another name you probably know: Haylie Duff.

The 2,695-square-foot home, which was built in 1989, is located in the popular Footbridge Square area of Studio City. Freshly remodeled, the home offers exceptional flow from the moment you walk through the front door. Soaring ceilings, an open floor plan, and an abundance of natural light create a positive environment throughout, while a chef’s kitchen — featuring unique details like marble, quartz, and an original farmhouse sink — serves as the crown jewel of the property. (It’s easy to see why: Haylie is the host of The Real Girl’s Kitchen on the Cooking Channel!)

The home has a spacious family room that opens out to a perfectly planned entertainer’s backyard, with a swimming pool and spa, custom Lynx barbecue island, and plenty of room for entertaining guests. Classic wide-plank hardwood and blue limestone flooring are used throughout the house. The master suite, with a huge built-out walk-in closet, master bath, and stunning private balcony, is the ultimate place for rest and relaxation.

Shawn’s new home sounds like it was a wise investment for Haylie, who only bought it back in 2015. She spent $1.33 million on the property, which means she netted a nice profit. But it appears this is in the rearview mirror for Haylie anyway — just a couple of months ago, she spent $2.695 million on another property in Studio City, which she snagged from fellow former teen star Ashley Tisdale, who had only owned the property for a year. We’re guessing homeownership in Hollywood might be like dog years! Luckily, Shawn also seems to be familiar with the Studio City area; back in 2013, he purchased another home there for $995,000.
