Serena Williams is on a roll. Not only is she one of the best tennis players that ever lived, but she recently welcomed a daughter with Reddit tycoon Alexis Ohanian. Now, the duo are prepping to walk down the aisle. But there’s another big development going on for the tennis great: she just listed her six-bed, seven-bath home in the luxe Los Angeles neighborhood of Bel Air. Williams bought the home back in 2006 (which is another lifetime ago in celebrity real estate years!) for $6.612 million, which means if she sells at its current asking price of just under $12 million, she’s set to make a killing. Talk about slaying on and off the court…
Measuring 6101 square feet, the traditional-style home, which was built in 1935, is one of the largest lots in the Stone Canyon area of Bel Air. A very private property surrounded by impeccable gardens, lush trees, and private hiking trails, the home has been fully updated without losing its historic charm. In addition to its six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, the estate features amenities like a private salon and bar/study lounge area. And seeing as this is Serena Williams’s home we’re talking about, the home also features a spacious gym perfect for fitting in a quick workout from home. Ideal for entertaining, the mansion has a sparkling swimming pool and picture-perfect outdoor area, complete with a long, covered walkway that guides guests from the parking area to the entry point of the house. With 2.7 acres of rolling grass, we would have thought that Williams would have installed a tennis court during the almost 10 years she lived here. But maybe this stunning estate served as Serena’s peaceful refuge away from the court, right?
From the looks of it, Serena’s got some serious business sense: Her real estate portfolio boasts two homes in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, as well as a sprawling piece of land in Jupiter, FL. She’s also rumored to have a home in Paris, France. Previously, Williams owned a stylish condo on Los Angeles’s famed Wilshire Boulevard, but sold it in 2013 for $1.85 million. Sister Venus Williams is no slouch in the real estate department, either: she used to live in a Hollywood Hills pied-à-terre before listing it in 2014. Naturally, it was snapped up by another famous face: Ellen Page.
