Rick And Kathy Hilton Snap Up $9.26 Million Bel Air House

The patriarch of the infamous Hilton clan rang in 2016 by purchasing a mega-million-dollar mansion.

Ah, the life of a real estate tycoon — snapping up one last mega-million-dollar deal before the year ends. Days after Christmas, Rick Hilton (father to the party-hearty socialites you cared about 10 years ago, Paris and Nicky Hilton) dropped $9.26 million on a luxe five-bed, eight-bath home just around the corner from his own house in the ritzy Bel Air neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA. But seeing as Rick (chairman and co-founder of luxury real estate brokerage Hilton & Hyland) and wife Kathy already have a home (or 12) of their own, we’re wondering which of the genetically blessed Hilton offspring will score this new 4,655-square-foot spread. Did one of the four Hilton kids hit the New Year’s Eve jackpot?

The classically traditional home, which was built in 1936, is nestled behind gates — which won’t be necessary when Paris comes over. (The eternally baby-voiced heiress loves the paparazzi.) A stylish foyer opens up to a step-down living room, replete with a fireplace, decorative moldings, and a large bay window. Great for entertaining (and you know the Hiltons like to party!), the family room features a full bar, built-ins, and doors to the patio. A formal dining room flows to the cook’s kitchen, which has a sunny breakfast area. No word if the breakfast served will be Continental….

Upstairs, there are three spacious bedroom suites, which include an extravagant master suite with a luxurious bath. French doors open to the patio that overlooks the carefully landscaped grounds, which lead to a sparkling pool and detached guesthouse. A second bonus room off the garage could make a great office, but seeing as those Hilton kids are better known for causing trouble than hard work, we’re guessing it will be a great gym or studio space instead.

So who gets the palatial spread? Paris already has her own place (when she’s not shacked up in a $45,000/month Malibu, CA, rental), and her sister, Nicky, just got married. Could this be the ultimate off-registry wedding present? But then there’s the lil’ bro Conrad, known for allegedly breaking into his girlfriend’s house and assaulting a flight attendant while calling the other passengers “peasants.” Could Daddy Rick be hoping to keep a close eye on his rowdy son? Or maybe it’s a belated graduation gift for 25-year-old Barron?

No matter who gets the house, chances are that Mom and Dad will stop by to crack the whip. Rick and Kathy live nearby, in a $9.22 million Bel Air home they bought back in 2004. Of course, they also have their New York, NY, pied-à-terre, which they snagged in 2013 for $2.522 million.
