Melissa Rivers Drops $11 Million On A Santa Monica Mega-Mansion

The “Fashion Police” co-host is comedy royalty, and her new mansion is certainly fit for a queen.

There’s nothing funny about comedy heir Melissa Rivers’ new mega-mansion. The host of Fashion Police (and daughter of the late, legendary comedian Joan Rivers) just dropped $11 million on a six-bed, seven-bath home for sale in Santa Monica, CA, and it’s just as stylish as red carpet doyenne Joan would have demanded.

Measuring 7,048 square feet, the SoCal dream house is located at the end of a cul-de-sac in Santa Monica Canyon. Built in 1991, the contemporary Mediterranean-style property has classic terra-cotta roof tiles and sits on a lot that covers almost a full acre. Tucked behind gates and nestled under a canopy of trees, the property provides a true sense of privacy. Spacious rooms throughout the home include a formal dining room, formal living room, and a two-story library/office. The great room, which includes a family room and informal dining area, is the perfect spot to gather with family, while the chef’s kitchen, with professional-grade appliances, butler’s pantry, and custom cabinetry, is perfect for the aspiring chef.

Upstairs, four bedrooms include an impressive master suite, which has dual walk-in closets, which we know will come in handy for fashionista Melissa. (We’re sure she is keeping the most sentimental items from her mom’s possessions to stash away in those closets! The rest, including her clothing, jewelry, and paintings, is set to be auctioned off at Christie’s in June.)

An attached guesthouse has its own kitchenette, and there’s also a maid’s/guest suite. Outside, there are covered dining, cooking, and living areas, as well as a fire pit, saltwater pool and hot tub, basketball court, and a private football field. A gated motor courtyard accommodates parking for six cars, in addition to the three-car garage.

It’s a spacious new home for Melissa, who recently made headlines and earned positive reviews for her portrayal of her late mother in the David O. Russell film Joy about Miracle Mop inventor Joy Mangano. Clearly, comedic talent runs in the family. But in grand Hollywood royalty tradition, this isn’t Melissa’s only property. Her longtime home — she’s lived there since 1998, eons in Hollywood time! — is a property in Pacific Palisades.
