Powerful conservative political commentator and Drudge Report creator Matt Drudge has just offloaded one of his Miami-area mansions for $1.575 million.
According to property records originally uncovered by The Real Deal, Drudge sold the Mediterranean-style home on the man-made Rivo Alto island near Miami Beach to FedEx senior executive Don Colleran.
The 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom, 2,609 square foot estate off the Venetian Causeway was on the market for a short 11 day window before it went under contract with Colleran.
Drudge paid $1.4 million for the three-story home in 2003. Aside from this home, he owns additional property in South Florida, including two homes in the Redland area of Miami. In 2011, he bought a large property for $1.45 million, and in February 2013, he paid $700,000 in cash for his next door neighbor’s smaller property in order to combine the parcels and make one large compound.
Prior to those purchases, Drudge lived in a condominium at the Four Seasons in Downtown Miami, where supermodel and “Real Housewives of Miami” start Joanna Krupa recently bought a condo for $1.37 million.
