Giovanni Ribisi, the actor famous for his roles in Gone in 60 Seconds, Boiler Room, Saving Private Ryan and many others, has just purchased an intriguing and artful residence from internationally known artist Mineo Mizuno.
According to public records, Ribisi paid $1,405,000 for the 2-bedroom, 2.5 bathroom, 3,886 square-foot residence and studio that Mizuno has been trying to unload since 2011.
Mizuno’s residence, now in the hands of Ribisi, is located in Los Angeles‘ Atwater Village, a neighborhood traditionally known for bungalows and Spanish revival homes. The Mizuno studio/residence is just a block away from the Los Angeles River and just minutes from Silver Lake, Los Feliz and downtown LA.
The residence itself is private and fuses elements from the Mineo Mizuno‘s Japanese heritage and love of art, architecture and landscape with the indoor/outdoor lifestyle of Southern California. It features traditional bedrooms and an art studio that the listing says “would also be appropriate as a theater.”
Internationally known, Mineo Mizuno has created significant ceramic sculptures that integrate sculpture, architecture, and painting. His works were prominently displayed throughout his home studio and visible in the listing photos. Not good enough for you? The general public can see his works at the Smithstonian American Art Museum, L.A.C.M.A., The Mint Museum of Art in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the L.A. Central Library’s Maguire Gardens.
No word on what artistic ventures Ribisi will pursue in his new home, but he definitely has quite the residential canvas to do something magical.
