Ellen Pompeo Lists Her Hollywood Hills Home For $2M

There's nothing grey about about the anatomy of this architectural treasure.

Forget the boring hospital scrubs. Ellen Pompeo, known for her role as Dr. Meredith Grey on Shonda Rhimes‘s hit ABC show Grey’s Anatomy, lives her life off-screen with impeccable style. And now, you can own a piece of it! Pompeo just listed her three-bed, two-bath home in the stylish Hollywood Hills for $1.995 million. A Boston-area native, Ellen bought the home back in 2008 for $1.226 million.

The stunning mid-century modern home was designed in 1957 by renowned architect Harry Greene. Tucked away from the street in a very private, forest-like setting, the 1889-square-foot home embraces the mid-century elements of glass walls, concrete floors, and beautiful stone walls. Still, the property has been fully redone and enhanced with the necessary modern amenities like a stainless steel kitchen, separate media room, and outdoor courtyard with a fire pit. Ideal for entertaining, the property includes majestic trees and a sunny resort-style pool and spa that feels like a true escape from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. And with an outdoor shower and sunken outdoor bathtub, we’d certainly choose to lounge in this luxurious spot forever.

Ellen isn’t the only Grey’s Anatomy star with excellent taste in real estate. Former co-stars Kate Walsh and Katherine Heigl have owned some beautiful properties, while Pompeo’s former on-screen husband Patrick Dempsey (R.I.P. Dr. McDreamy) is an architecture buff who previously owned a Malibu home designed by Frank Gehry himself. But don’t for a second think Ellen doesn’t have options once this home sells: She also owns a sprawling beach house in Malibu, a property in hipster enclave Los Feliz, and another home in the Hollywood Hills. It pays to play a doctor on TV!
