Real Estate Portfolio: Taylor Swift Edition

The Properties the Pop Star Calls Home

Between crafting songs about current beaus and Bad Blood ballads about exes, everyone’s favorite princess of pop has been busy building her real estate empire and it is most certainly #goals. Taylor Swift started her real estate portfolio where she started her music career, in the epicenter of country music, Nashville, TN. As TSwift’s music has evolved, so has her real estate style, so it was only natural to feature Taylor for Trulia’s first edition of Celebrity Real Estate Portfolios. Take a peek inside each of the properties Taylor Swift and her squad call home, starting with her most recent purchase.

As the newest addition to Ms. Swift’s real estate portfolio, this iconic mansion in Beverly Hills, CA, built in 1934, was previously home to one of Hollywood’s most famous film producers, Samuel Goldwyn, and his family. Swift purchased the estate in September 2015 for $25 million, and as of last week, the Beverly Hills Cultural Heritage Commission voted in favor of Taylor’s request to turn the 10,982 square foot estate into a local landmark. Next, the Beverly Hills City Council will vote to finalize the historic designation, giving Ms. Swift the green light to restore the home—complete with its seven bedrooms and 10 baths—to its former State of Grace.

Never in our Wildest Dreams would we be able combine two penthouses, but this budding real estate tycoon did. After purchasing two adjacent penthouses in a Tribeca building built in 1882, Taylor has renovated them into one large condo boasting 8,309 square feet, 10 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. The two penthouses were purchased by “Lord of the Rings” director, Peter Jackson, in 2008 and were kept separate. After attempting to list both together in 2013 to no avail, Jackson split them up and finally a found buyer in Swift in February 2014, for a grand total of nearly $20 million, only for her to combine them at last.

The vacation home of all vacation homes, this seven bedroom, nine bathroom seaside estate, built in 1930, sits on five acres atop the highest point in Watch Hill, RI, overlooking the Block Island Sound and Montauk Point. Just a few miles away from the famous Kennedy Family Compound, rumor has it that Taylor purchased this home in April 2013 for $17.75 million after breaking up with the grandson of Robert F. Kennedy, Conor Kennedy, though it seems that the former couple is Never Ever Getting Back Together. With nearly 12,000 square feet to house her cats and all her fabulous besties, it is no wonder this home is now valued at over $20.6 million.

Nestled in the quiet Forest Hills suburb of Nashville, TN, this Greek revival estate, originally built in 1934 by the U.S. ambassador to Denmark at the time, features a 5,600 square foot main house with four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, along with a 2,000 square foot guesthouse added in 1964 just beside the outdoor pool. Though Taylor purchased the home in June 2011 for $2.5 million, it is now estimated to be worth just under $3.8 million.

Swift’s April 2011 purchase of this gorgeous Cape Cod-style cottage in Beverly Hills, CA, signifies her evolution into the pop star we know her as today, as it is the first property she bought in Los Angeles. Built in 1941, the gated estate is situated on the north side of Franklin Canyon on a nearly an acre and a half property and features three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. Though Swift purchased this home for $3.55 million in 2011, it is now estimated to be worth about $2.9 million,

At 20 years old, the rising star purchased her starter home—a 3,240 square foot condo right in the heart of Nashville, TN’s “Music Row” neighborhood—for $1.99 million. Built in 2008, just a year prior to her August 2009 purchase, the home features floor to ceiling windows showcasing the Nashville skyline, contemporary, industrial-style features and elegant gray tones throughout.
