Time to take down the “For Sale” sign? According to the always-in-the-know Real Estalker, chat show hostess Rosie O’Donnell has sold her waterfront mansion on Miami Beach’s Star Island for $12,675,000 to an unknown buyer. While property records do not yet reflect the sale, sources close to the deal say it’s in the bag.
Property records DO show that the actress, comedienne and former “The View” co-host bought the 1+ acre property in March 1999 for $6,750,000. O’Donnell first listed the home on the open market in March 2012 with a $19,500,000 price tag. In March 2013, the price was cut to $17,500,000. With no buyer coming forward with that kind of cold, hard cash, O’Donnell had to dig deeper into her profit margin to get the deal done.
The home is a gem on the high-priced celebrity enclave of Star Island and the entrance and brick motorcourt is punctuated by a massive tree. The home opens to a double height foyer and formal living and dining rooms. There’s also a den/library/office, media room, and a well-equipped, two-island kitchen that’s open to a family room and informal dining area. The second-floor bedrooms include a vast master suite with sitting room, fireplace, private office, and direct access to a large terrace that overlooks the water.
