Rent Shane Smith’s Pacific Palisades Home For $17.5K A Month

Don't let your parents tell you that journalism doesn't pay!

He may be a journalist, but VICE creator Shane Smith is living large! The journo-turned-entrepreneur is putting his five-bed, four-bath home in the luxe Pacific Palisades, CA up for rent. But if you want to come near this modern masterpiece, which Smith bought in 2016 for $3.825 million, i’ll cost you a pretty penny: $17,500 per month.

This rustic ranch style home is a unique, modern design constructed with natural and organic materials. Measuring 2615 square feet, the extremely private estate has recently been transformed to accommodate a growing young family while vastly improving its energy efficience. Built in 1953, the home has three bedrooms on the ground level, as well as a potential guest room which could easily be converted into an office or home gym. A “tree top” master suite on the second level provides expansive views of the canyons in a stylish and luxurious environment.

Smith certainly isn’t scraping by like most journalists. In addition to a home he’s had in New York City‘s Tribeca neighborhood since 2009, he snagged an estate in Santa Monica, CA back in 2015 for a whopping $23,000,000. And your dad said nobody makes any money in journalism…
