Rent Melissa Gilbert’s “Little House” in the Valley

Back in August of 2011, we let you in on the news that former Screen Actors Guild president and “Little House on the Prairie” star Melissa Gilbert and her soon-to-be ex-husband Bruce Boxleitner were selling their Tarzana house in the wake of their divorce filing.

Since then, the $1,195,000 cul-de-sac estate has sat quite lonely on the unsold real estate prairie. Facing their own real estate reality, the former pair have now decided to go the rental route, placing the home up for lease at $8,000 a month.

The gated home, built in 1955, is modest by celebrity standards and the decor definitely lends to its lived-in look. With 4,609 square-feet of living space, the private ranch includes 5 bedrooms, 4 full baths, 1 partial bath, a gourmet kitchen, vaulted ceilings, formal dining room, and living room with fireplace.

A large pool, and an equally large stretch of green grass separate the main home from detached guest quarters. The studio-sized space comes complete with bedroom, full bath and kitchenette.
